Pats cheater hate them glad bellichick stepped down as HC wouldn't want this to be my teams legacy. Cheating does help you win no matter who tells you different.

If this turns out to be true you have to wonder just how many things they get away with.

They cheated before, its a fact, I'm sure they have continued to find other ways to cheat. Its just a matter of getting caught.

yep which is why i argue with anyone who says brady is a top 5 qb of all time. I don't even think he is top 20.

To be fair Brady is very good and is a huge difference maker on that team. Arguing about top 5? Eh. Arguing about best ever? I'm right there with you.

like i said cheating wins.

he does have one thing going for him though being in the same system for alot of years has helped, but the level of winning he does he would not be there if not for cheating and refs kissing his ass.

Twice they made rules for all the NFL for something that involved him.

Meh

If the NFL can prove that Brady played with under inflated balls, and Luck played with over inflated balls, we would have something here.

Two things. How would it be possible to prove that? What would the NFL's motivation be in going into a major investigation to under cut the integrity of their multi billion dollar game?

In the end it will cost some 16 YO ball boy his job, and the footballs will be burned

Can someone explain why teams are allowed to use their own balls? Shouldn't these things be regulated by the league and brought in by the officials? It's like this in NCAA, weird in my opinion

Now here's something the NFL will probably jump all over

Could Jets forfeit a draft pick if found guilty of tampering?

There's something ironic about the New England Patriots accusing another team of breaking the rules, but they appear to have a case against the New York Jets.

Owner Woody Johnson suffered a foot-in-mouth moment on the day he fired Rex Ryan and John Idzik, telling reporters, "I'd love for Darrelle [Revis] to come back." Tampering charges have been filed against the Jets, as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Sunday. If the league deems it a violation, the Jets could be fined and/or docked a draft pick (or picks).

Johnson called Patriots owner Robert Kraft to clarify his comments, later releasing a statement saying he "misspoke. I would never interfere in the contractual relationship of a player with another team and should not have used those words."

The Patriots aren't letting it slide, hardly a surprise given the acrimony between the two franchises over the years. Anybody remember Spygate?

Fans really don't care if Johnson, a billionaire, has to pay a big fine. The concern is whether the league will strip the Jets of a draft pick. Well, you should know it rarely happens in tampering cases.

Here's a look at the history (since 1980) of teams having to forfeit draft picks, according to ESPN Stats & Information: •2012 New Orleans Saints pay the price for Bountygate, surrendering a pair of second-round picks (2012 and 2013).
• 2011 Lions forfeit seventh-round pick for tampering with Chiefs players.
•2008 49ers forfeit fifth-round pick for tampering with Bears linebacker Lance Briggs.
•2008 Patriots forfeit first-round pick for Spygate scandal.
•2002-05 Broncos forfeit 2005 third-round pick, 2002 third-round pick for circumventing salary cap between 1996 and 1998.
•2001-02 49ers forfeit 2002 third-round pick, 2001 fifth-round pick for salary-cap violations.
•2001 Steelers forfeit third-round pick for exceeding 1998 salary cap.
•1986 Patriots forfeit third-round pick for illegal use of injured reserve list.
•1981 Broncos forfeit third-round pick for contract violations involving Bill Thompson.
•1981 Raiders forfeit fifth-round pick for illegally sequestering two players in 1978.
•1980 Eagles forfeit third-round pick for holding illegal tryout.
•1980 Raiders forfeit fourth-round pick for evasion of player limit.

IMO it will cost Woody some money. Good.

Anything more then that would be stupid. It was clearly not intentional tampering

agreed. woody was asked a question and he answered it. There were no bad intentions with that comment. Even a fine wouldn't make sense but it needs to happen in order to prevent other people from actually tampering intentionally.

It's ridiculous. I agree with you by the way, I doubt the league will look strongly into the deflated balls allegation. First off, how can the prove it? Especially after the fact, doesn't the ball naturally deflate after a certain while? It's not only hard to prove but the league has a lot to lose.

But I cannot believe that the Pats are always involved in controversy after controversy. When there is smoke, there is fire. Pats do bend the rules.

Good point. So now perhaps it is time for the league to consider controlling the process of ball preparation for the games. Perhaps a league representative who tests the balls before the game, then watches over them after the testing is complete. Shades of Shula's tarp-removing incident that cost the Jets a playoff win and led to the league controlling the field for the 48 hours prior to kickoff.
