Blake Cashman. Limited WILL linebacker who isn't big and isn't fast. Yup sounds like a great pick by Mac.

You could include the whole analysis.

"Limited WILL linebacker who isn't big and isn't fast, but plays with determination and a nose for the ball. Former walk-ons usually have chips on their shoulders that are permanent fixtures and Cashman is no different. He's made the most out of every opportunity he's created for himself, but his lack of athletic traits and length create a small margin for error in his play. If he can improve in taking on blocks and play more instinctively, he could have a chance as a back-end backup and core special-teamer."

The round 5 pick is Blake Cashman LB. Yep, we needed a LB and this one I see as maybe a special teams player because I can't see any other reason to bring him on board. Maybe one of you guys know something about him that I don't know, I only saw him play a couple of times and all I can remember is that he was a pretty good tackler.

Out of every position a project lb with limited athleticism was not a priority for me. Especially when a nice mid round Center was sitting there at a NEED position. I mean do we even have a backup center right now
Worst pick so far.

I could have, but I read all I needed. And we have a billion LB's. We finally got the LB we wanted from Minnesota.

Chuma Edoga, Trevon Wesco and Blake Cashman

That is the sound of flushing your draft down the toilet following the first two picks.

I love Q and Jachai, the first two picks, but any Jets fan could have made those picks.

What we needed was a solid draft from top to bottom, but instead we got the usual crap Mac drafts once you need a real GM to make some smart picks.

Does it really matter what some site like Pro Football Focus says about a player? Do we trust them more than we trust the front office guys who do this for a living?

They just said, if I heard correctly that 13 starters from his past cheatah s superbowl team were drafted in the 4th round of lower. Brady is the best lower round drafter too

In the immortal words of Buddy Ryan when asked who he agreed with in an epic draft argument between Tobin (Colts GM) and Mel Kiper,

Buddy Ryan replied ....

"I have to go with Kiper, he has a better track-record than Tobin."

OK.
When you pass on players like Anthony Johnson and Corey Ballentine for Blake Cashman, yep, I have to side with PFF

Especially when you have a habit of doing this in the mid to later rounds, barring one or two outliers.

Sounds good.

PFF had Blake Cashman as a second rounder, 59th overall on their big board. Fourth inside backer.

"Devin Bush and Devin White own the top of the 2019 NFL Draft as the class’ top off-ball linebackers and Minnesota’s Blake Cashman enters the mix soon after the Devin duo, but consensus turns into disagreement beyond the aforementioned trio."

"Pro Football Focus has Cashman as the fourth-best linebacker available and a potential second-round pick."

Oh, Daniel Jones, the QB from Duke the Giants took sixth overall, was ranked behind Cashman by PFF.

Well then I disagree with PFF too and side with the overwhelming majority of analysts who essentially rated this a wasted pick. I only said I sided with PFF because you cleverly gave me the impression they were panning this scrub too.

BTW whose spot is Cashman competing for, Mosley's or Williamson's? :global (21):

I didn't give any impression. It seems PFF is the guide most people turn to for their top end analysis.

Oh, and PFF also had Trevon Wesco as the best TE in their Big 12 rankings. Not sure about his overall ranking, but they weren't the only ones high on him.

As for whose spot he's taking, if you think you're landing a sure starter in the fifth round, you might be expecting a bit much. You are looking for the best players who make it to that point, hoping they help your specials and develop into something good.
