Yes I promised myself I wouldn't do this at all this year but were getting to close and I'm getting to anxy. Plus watching the preseason games tonight took me here. So here we go and DAMN, I hope I don't jinx our New York Jets. What's your predictions for the Jets or every team and keep in mind that this has to be real, so your total teams wins have to equal (256 wins).

2019 NFL predictions: (256 wins for each scenario one and two)

AFC East:
Patriots 12-4/11-5 (Pats are still the Pats, sorry)

Bills 8-8/9-7 (Allen's accuracy issues hurts the Bills)
Dolphins 5-11/6-10 (Rosen shows signs of life)

Chiefs: 12-4/11-5 (Mahomes proves he's the truth)
Chargers: 11-5/10-6 (They flop again in the playoffs)
Raiders: 5-11/6-10 (AB doesn’t help the Raiders)
Broncos: 5-11/6-10 (Flacco flops and rookie plays)

Eagles: 11-5/10-6 (Eagles and Cowboys battle it out)
Cowboys: 11-5/10-6 (Dak, Zeke and Cooper)

I still think we are 8-8 because of our defense. If only we had drafted a pass rusher with our first pick. Q better be an Aaron Donald lite.

Here’s the thing, call me crazy but I believe we’re better then 8-8 and pass rushing isn’t our issue. Even with Williamson going down (which he wasn’t a pass rusher) and Copeland’s suspension (he wasn’t a pass rusher either). Our front seven will still be potent. Either Luvu or Polite will step up for Copeland and the MLB will work it self out. Maybe they’ll switch to the 4-3 but either way, we’ll be ok. My issue is the secondary, CB(s) rather. If we can get this resolved to a average cornerback situation at least then we’ll be even better then a 10-6 or 9-7 team. I think we’ll be one or two games better and truly solidify a playoff spot. Maybe even fight for the division. Call me crazy!

I believe the offense is undoubtedly better. Sam’s progression, additions of Crowder, Bell, Montgomery, Osemele, and Kalil make this offense a force, especially when Herndon gets back. Enunwa appears to be healthy and firing on all cylinders. This is going to be the highest scoring offense since the Kenny O’Brien/Wesley Walker/Al Toon/Freeman McNeil years. (That’s the 80’s for you kiddos).

I love the defense straight up the middle. We have one of the best safety combos in the NFL with Maye 100%. CJ Mosley is the man in the middle. And our d-line is gonna be filthy. Q, Leo, and Anderson are beasts up front. The CB’s are average overall, but hopefully Adams and Maye can alleviate some of that in supporting the pass defense.

This is a tough season to predict. I can see great things, and I also can see injuries leading to a crash and burn due to questionable depth.

I definitely remember the eighties and Ken O’Brien days. Been a Jets fan since 1982 and I still hate Dan Marino and those Dolphins till this day from all battles and beatings we took from them. This offense will be comparable but don’t sleep on how potent that (12-4) 1997 Viney, C. Martin, Keyshawn and Credet offense was. They were pretty potent as well. If you see this secondary as being average and they actually are then we are definitely good for 10 wins at the least. Darnold, Bell, Herndon, Enunwa, Crowder, Anderson and Montgomery.

With a much improved oline. Yeah we are looking pretty decent barring anymore major injuries of course. Williamson was enough. Hopefully TJ returns to Rams form, whenever he returns and K. Brown will be that fourth CB we need to actually make us in average CB squad. Combine those two with Poole and Roberts and maybe we’ll actually be okay. I’m sure Joe and Gase will bring in at least one more (hopefully younger) quality CB after team cuts. Shame the drafted Rutgers CB, B. Austin won’t be able to play pretty much this year. Question is will he ever be able to play?

Being that Luck just retired I guess that drops the Colts down about four wins. Luck is worth about that many!

Without getting specific, because I don't have the energy to go through listing all the teams records when the final outcome of the season doesn't change by what I guess(Sorry 82)

as usual, cheetahs will have the best record in the AFC. Haven't looked at who they play but they do play 6 games in the AFC East where the power rankings show between 22 and 32 for the Jets, Bills Dolphins so another cakewalk to the division and home field. I'll say 13-3 maybe 12-4 if Belichick tries some funny stuff early in the season, just to get the media wondering if the cheatahs might finally be done. brady should still be standing in the same spot like the statue of liberty waiting for someone to get wide open every week. why wouldn't he, league rules forbid anyone touching him as does his offensive line

Not going out on much of a limb here to pick KC as second in the AFC and traveling to the portal for the championship game. Most likely, they are the better team for all but the last minute of the game where a bad call will go the cheatahs way putting them in the Super Bowl yet again

The NFC , as usual, has no shortage of good teams playing for the chance to beat the cheatahs in the superbowl. So far only the NFC east can complete that task, but I don't see them doing it this year. Like last season, I give the only hope to Drew Brees, who probably should have done it last year

I always pick our Jets between 6-10 and 10-6 and with the cornerback play, I think any team with a decent QB will pick us apart. We really haven't gotten a glimpse of our offense yet and won't until they all get to play week 1. Unless they gel instantly the early season will be disastrous. once we pass the 2 early cheetah games, the season becomes much easier but with the tough early schedule and so many new players, coaches, system, I think the early schedule ruins us. 6 or 7 wins maybe worse unless we somehow get off to fast start. Haven't looked at the over/under on us but based on the 22 power ranking, I'm thinking 6 or 7 is about right.

sorry guys hope I'm wrong on all accounts and also hope that Brees can get it done

Respect your opinion but your killing me here CH! The Pats always start their season slow and as long that continues this year then we have a chance of a split with them. Cleveland is on our turf and so is that first game against the Bills. The Jets honestly have a chance to start the first 6 games with a 4-2 record. 3-3 at worst. Gets a bit easier from there where they can pick up a little speed or stay even. Especially at the the last six games of the season where they can finish strong for that 10 wins.

I’m not declaring the Jets a 11 or even a 12 win team this year. Only way that happens is if they stay healthy all year and fix the CB issue and do it within the next two weeks. I got the Pats at 12-11 wins because I believe both the Jets and Bills will split with them. Bills will be very tuff this year and the AFC East won’t necessarily be a cake walk from them like in the past. So have a little faith my friend, we know that Joe, G. Williams and Gase see the CB issues and they have to have a plan to do something to address this CB issue.

Belichick uses the first few games to try out players and see what he's got, so yeah they start out slo, but then the finish strong. and don't forget that while our schedule is pretty easy, Belichick plays the same schedule as us except for 2 games, so them being better then us makes their schedule even easier

If we start out 4-2 or 3-3, then, you are right, we have a chance to be really good. I just don't see us with that kind of start against the teams on our schedule. we rarely beat Belichick and with the CB issue, brady is gonna stand there throwing to wide open guys all day. we always blow it against the Bills and we don't fair well against the NFC east with zero wins vs. teams from Pennsylvania (Steelers and Eagles) ever, I believe. and, we know the Browns are up and coming just as we hopefully are. You know they will be looking at us as a win on their schedule

as usual, we aren't getting much respect with our 22 ranking and if that turns out true then we get 6 or 7 wins. Matt Ryan completed every pass that he wasn't sacked on and Drew Brees cake walked the field on his only drive. We are going to have plenty of trouble against passing teams and I don't know were the CB fix can come from at this point

hope I'm wrong

Respect your analogy and we all hope your wrong, as you do but let’s go through the schedule. After looking at the schedule again, weeks 7-14 they better catch their stride with multiple wins or they will be in trouble. Maybe just my opinion and mines alone but:

Weeks:

1. vs. Buffalo (first game and home energy win)
2. vs. Browns (primetime revenge game win)
3. @ Pats (hoping for a win but probably not)
4. bye week
5. @ Eagles (most likely a loss)
6. vs. Cowboys (could go either way/probably a loss)
7. vs. Pats (after 2 or 3 straight losses, we win this one)
8. @ Jaguars (could go either way/might lose this one)
9. @ Dolphins (should win this one but could lose in Miami)
10. vs. Giants (better be a win/Jones should playing by then)
11.@ Redskins (could go either way/should be a win)
12. vs. Raiders (better win this one period)
13. @ Bengals (better win this one period)
14. vs Dolphins (better win this one period)
15. @ Ravens (will most likely lose this one)
16. vs. Steelers (could go either way/scary ass emotional game they might lose)
17. @ Bills (better win/both teams will be fighting for playoffs spot)

This totals a 10 to 9 win season and fighting for a wild card spot. IMO!

I still think we are an 8-8 especially watching our D get torched by the Saints. Its gonna happen all year. Mac really fucked this roster of depth with his awful Idzik-like drafting.

Wishful thinking my pessimistic friend! Like I said before I’m sure Joe, Gase and G. Williams will do something to rectify this in the next two weeks. Whether that’s on this current roster or they make other moves, something has to be done and I believe it will.

I know people say I'm pessimistic, but Douglas can't fix Mac's mess in a pre season unless he trades away all our picks. I hope I'm wrong. If they can go 4-3 in first 7 then maybe they can win 10. If they go 2-5 like I can see them going then 8 wins will be tough.

Exactly and doing both isn’t a impossibility. Fixing the CB situation this off season doesn’t require trading away everyone. They just have to get our CB situation to being average at least and we’ll be right there. Now some believe our defensive back situation is average already and if that’s the case then we already have what we need. The DBs aren’t showing it those far, I’ll admit but maybe they’ll step up come game one, or Joe will sign someone before game one they can slowly get him adjusted.

Second issue is the first seven games, 5 of those games are at home and if they can’t go at least, 4-3 with 5 home games they don’t deserve to be a playoff team anyway. So I will continue to be optimistic until I see otherwise and hopefully that won’t be the case. Games 7-14 could truly be a positive turning point for this team. If they are 3-3 by game seven and can win 5-6 games out of the next seven, that puts them at 8-9 wins. They just have to find away to win 1-2 more to make a 9-10 wins, wild-card run this year. It’s possible!

I just want to see Darnold make a huge leap and then rid this team of Mac's trash and hit the ground running next year. If they go 4-3 in the first 7 then I will be on board, but I just don't see it and until these CB's show me they are competent then I won't believe it. I know the Jets have the right HC and GM and they have a ton of work to do, but I trust they can do it in 2-3 years. If we squeak and I mean we will have to squeak into the playoffs then I will be ecstatic.

I think I'm more with Tebow here. Seen it too many times.

For one, Gase has never done anything to make me think he is ready to turn this team around. Not saying he can't, just saying that his limited track record is not encouraging.

Douglas, making an attempt to help the O line does , however encourage me about him.

As for the schedule, let me just say these few words of discouragement:
1.should we beat the Bills at home week 1? probably we should. when was the last time we beat the Bills when we were counting on beating the Bills?
2. Week 2 really scares me
for me, weeks 1 and 2 are must win if we are going to me over .500
3. we have never beaten the Eagles.
4.We almost never beat the Steelers or Cowboys
5. If there are six games that we should, without a doubt win, you can pretty much count on blowing 3 of them.
6. although we probably should, we don't often sweep the dolphins or Bills
7. I have a hard time imagining us even being competitive vs. the cheatahs this season

now, if we fix the cornerback situation in the next 2 weeks, that will change a lot. same as if we finally play our starting offense all together in week 1 and they play great together. That will change the view. but for 50 years, "playing like a Jet" has not generally ever meant playing up to or above expectations.

now, of course, history is just that, history and there is no reason why we can't change history. Just that we haven't changed it in 50 years yet

now, hopefully at seasons end you can bring back this post and tell me I was full of it. If, Gase and Douglas can change the culture here then that will be the case. the good news is that they know they have to. If they can't then history repeats
