I think Revis may go to Buffalo that's if he even enters FA. Revis loves Rex Ryan and I think because of that he'd choose Buffalo over Jets. Unless, the Jets throw more money his way, I can't see Revis coming back.

Jets expected to pursue Darrelle Revis if he becomes a free agent: report

The Jets are expected to pursue Darrelle Revis if he becomes a free agent, according to ESPN. Revis is playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

A little less than two years after John Idzik traded Darrelle Revis to the Bucs, the Jets are expected to pursue the star cornerback if he hits free agency, according to ESPN.

Revis is still technically under contract for next season with the Patriots after signing a two-year, $32 million deal last season that actually serves as a de facto one-year, $12 million contract. In essence, Revis will likely be a free agent again unless the Patriots restructure, renegotiate, or extend his deal before the league year begins.

At his season-ending press conference in December, Jets owner Woody Johnson raised some eyebrows by openly saying, “I’d love Darrelle to come back.” Though Johnson quickly apologized to Patriots owner Robert Kraft, New England still reportedly filed tampering charges against the Jets for the comment.

In addition, ESPN reported that Rex Ryan will also try and reunite with Revis in Buffalo.

Bleacher Report had previously reported that the Patriots have started talking about extending Revis’ contract.

The Jets not only have the need for a top cornerback but they also have the financial flexibility to pay him. The Jets will have an estimated $48.985 million in cap space this offseason, assuming a $140 million salary cap, according to overthecap.com. They would have even more if they cut players like Chris Johnson and/or Percy Harvin. And their need for a cornerback is well documented after Idzik failed to secure one last offseason and instead settled for Dimitri Patterson, who never played a regular season down. Todd Bowles’ defensive system, like Ryan’s, places a premium on cornerbacks.

Revis was drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2007 draft and spent six years with the club. Idzik dealt Revis, then the Jets best player, in April of 2013 to the Bucs in exchange for a 2013 first-round pick and a 2014 conditional fourth-round pick. The team drafted Sheldon Richardson and Jalen Saunders with those picks, while the Bucs cut Revis and his $16 million salary after one season.

Doubt the Jets will sign Revis. Both the Pats and the Bills will probably be in the market for him. It makes sense for the Jets to leak they are also interested to run the price up.

Don't think the Jets will be interested in paying more then 12 million, which is what it was rumored they offered him 2 years ago

I want Revis but I do not think he'll resign here. We have a ton of cap space but I think we are far away from being a contender and money could be spent elsewhere.

I just Dk if there are any good corners around. We need improvement asap. I cannot go into the season counting on Dee and McDougle.

I do see Woody making a big splash in free agency though. He needs excitement for the season ticket holders. Many probably won't renew.

There are several good CB's available if they make it to FA. Kareem Jackson- 26, Cromartie- 30. Brandon Flowers 28, a few others also.

IMO if I were running the Jets Jackson, Cromartie, and guard Mike Lupati, would be signed by the Jets the first day of FA. If the Eagles are dumb enough to let him hit FA I might put Jeremy Maclin on that list to

As long as this douche doesn't win a SB, I will be happy. I don't care if he is here. Would rather have Cro.

I don't want any part of Revis. We are rebuilding we don't need him and his price tag.

I think the Jets will force the Pats ot Bills to pay many, many big bucks to sign Mevis and then go out and sign Kareem Jackson!

I hope that is Macs plan.

Orchestrate a bidding war between the filthy cheater and the bragging boaster and enjoy the popcorn while one of them, probably the latter, blows the roof off his teams salary cap

Always impressed when NFLN rounds up McGinist and Evans or ESPNE consults with Bruschi for fair and balanced coverage of the cheating pile of manure in Sucksboro
