Zach Mettenberger - QB - Titans
The Nashville Tennessean reiterates that "early indications" are the Titans will stick with Zach Mettenberger as their 2015 quarterback and bypass signal callers at the top of May's draft.
This move would set up Tennessee to select USC DL Leonard Williams with the No. 2 overall pick. Mettenberger flashed a big arm and pocket composure as a rookie, but is athletically challenged and erratic enough that emerging as more than a low-end starter seems unlikely. With the Buccaneers expected to draft Jameis Winston at No. 1, it's also possible the Titans simply aren't enthralled with Oregon's Marcus Mariota.

Not surprising. This could lead to the annual precipitous QB drop.

He's a player I would like a lot, like Mack OLB last year, I just dont think it is likely he makes it to us. I'd love to have him and see what Bowles and staff can do with him. Gotta think he can be the Cam Wake of our defense.

I gotta think Jax would be on him at that point.

Williams and Gregory are both likely targets of Jax...I doubt Gregory and Williams get out of the top 5 as the Skins could use both players as well.

It will be very interesting to see what Skins do with the 5th pick. It's clear that HC Gruden isn't in love with Griffin, so do they restart with Mariota and in the process block the Eagles from grabbing him via trade? Do they grab an OL, or a edge rusher to replace Orakpo?

Most people assume OLB to replace orakpo...and mariota has the same warts Geno and RG3 had coming out of college...so why jump in that bed again (doubt they will)? I think they stick with RG3 (they're stacked at WR with garcon, DJax, and Roberts with Reed at TE) and go OLB since OL is weaker in this class.

I could see the Skins go OL in free agency. They need DB help really bad also.

I agree with you about the 3 QBs with the warts, but the thing about Griffin and Gruden has said as much is his attitude and lack of willingness to accept coaching. At least that is what I recall from one of Gruden's pressers last year. Mariota would be a clean slate for a HC whose forte is QBs. Just sayin'.

I agree with that. No OLinemen nor CB worthy of #5 but they could reach on Landon Collins at safety but more than likely go pass rusher, which pains me since I have one guy targeted for the Jets - Fowler. All that said, they should be a strong candidate to trade down.

All true points. I guess it's possible...hadn't considered it. I get more Resdskins coverage than most here being in Northern Virginia and I know Gruden isn't fond of him. New GM in place, anything can happen.

They don't really NEED a pass rusher as they can swing Kerrigan over...

...same issues that Winston has. Maybe the Skins will get excited about Mariota, but the community loves and wants to see RG3 triumph, so I bet he gets another year. RG3 is still a big marketing piece in the DC market (I live here and a lot of people still believe in him). I think Snyder is driving this bus and Gruden and Co will be farced another year to see if RG3 can figure out the NFL game.

It took Rodgers how many years sitting and watching? Kaepernick and Geno still struggling making the adjustment and Alex Smith is just a game manager. Going from spread to treaditional offense can be a painful learning curve, one I think teams are going to be weary of moving forward, and Mariota may see his stock dip due to the lack of success of the transition for most QBs.

Same here, live in MD and work in DC so I get a lot of Skins talk radio on my commute.

I do too, but need to pony up for the NFL channel.

Greg Cosell alone makes it worth it the way he breaks down film on each player both for the draft and during the season. He's amazing and teaches you so much about the game...not that Gil Brandt, Bill Polian, Ross Tucker, Jim Miller, and Pat Kirwan don't also. The entire line-up is former GMs or NFL front office men that break down how the NFl really works daily...even when teams win they break down the near misses and mistakes made. It's worth every cent.

Switching gears slightly, but how about a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a CB named Kevin Johnson from Wake Forest? Over 6' fast and can mirror WRs on the perimeter; kinda lean though.
