I love him as a player. It is the person that worries me.
things can change before/durning a draft..I love him as a player. It is the person that worries me.
that said, i'm guessing winston won't be our problem..
anyone hoping against hope here??

I'll tell you the truth Nick, I honestly don't think he's a bad guy. Besides the sexual assault, which under heavy federal moderation , turned out to be BS. The other crap was just silly stuff. BB gun, crab legs, and being an ass in the student cafeteria. He turned 21 last month.
Guys a great student, big time team leader, and well liked. The trouble magnet is certainly cause for concern, but I think he'll be all right.
I'm a Canes fan, so I'm not going homer on the kid, I should hate him. Think he's going to be a impact NFL QB

I do think he has the most upside potential of any of the QBs coming out this year. Even though I have my concerns I would not let them stop me from drafting him if by some miracle he was available at 6. I just wouldn't trade up for him under any circumstances.
Well, he has numerous off the field issues and 1 out of every 10 passes over 5 yards is an INT...and that's playing in sunny Florida. He doesn't throw tight spirals which causes the inaccuracy in his deep balls and has obvious maturity issues.
Winston is the type of player that gets coaches and GMs fired (right Mike Shanahan).
If you pick Winston, you better be right, or Mac will be on the Idzik 2 year plan. The first time he's arrested for anything (as an NFL player, him getting arrested at FSU was just called Friday night), Mac can flush his GM career down the toilet as every outlet will say, "I told you so, what a bad pick"...like the situation the Browns are in now with Manziel).
Drafting Winston would be putting all your chips in the middle the first time you play cards...will be interesting to see if Mac and Bowles take that risk.

I agree completely. There's no way I'd do a RG3 type deal.
Edit: Something's wrong with the quotes in this thread. I'll look into it.
Would you tie your career path and source of income for your family to winston?
If as a GM your answer is no, you don't draft him. Your professional reputation is on the line.
I will say this Maccagnan won't have to worry about It he will be drafted #1
Winston will be a Buc with the first pick
Hopefully a miracle ensues and the Duck is still there at six for the Jets to draft and end the two year reign of error known as Geno.Smith
The Decker situation was different than a lot of players. I am sure he factored in to the equation that NY was a better situation for his wife than Denver.

If this is what you want I would go all in if Winston was sitting there at 6
Perfect. Now lets watch his career unfold and we'll be able to judge Nick the GM and see how long after 2015 Nick would remain the GM, or if Winston becomes a star, does Nick go down as Bill Polian 2.0.
This should be fun.
...and I'll answer the questions as well, he's a player that loves himself more than football, so I wouldn't draft him.
Without opinions, this place would be as dead or dying as Scout/JI.Time will tell I never have a problem stating an opinion. I know we disagree sometimes but I do respect your opinions.
Well, part of leaving Denver was also losing their reality show...so he lost Peyton and reality show money, so I wouldn't pretend as some are that the decision opened up all these new revenue channels they're cashing in on...I'm sure his wife enjoyed the public marketing that came with being on TV seasonally...
I like how we can convince a WR to leave Peyton and lose his family reality show to come to the Jets, but "some of us" act like it is impossible to consider Emmanuel Sanders "may" have come here instead of Denver...
