sam's 2nd article chk it out a little controversial should generate some good discussion

There is no doubt Nick Mangold has been one of the Jets premier players during his 9 years in the

franchise, personified by his 6 Pro Bowl appearances. He is loved by Jets fans all over the world, due to his

personality and his love for the Jets, makes him an easy character to root for. Mangold has been very

consistent and has become the corner stone of the Offensive Line. This poses the question: What could the

Jets get for parting ways with the talented blocker?

Nobody is offering a 1st round pick for a 31 YO Center

I guess if someone should offer a 1st round pick for Harris or Pace they should take it to

I personally think even if you dangled mangold it would be bad for the lockeroom you don't trade the heart and soul of a football team esp someone like this.

although it is not unprecedented didn't mawae get traded a few times?

so with an unsettled QB position and a deteriorating offensive line, we should trade perhaps the best player on the entire offensive side of the ball to get more draft picks and hope that dalton freeman, with all of 1 career start, can play as well as one of the best lineman in the team's history :smiley-toilet05:

As good as he was, Mawae was a locker room lawyer. Was President on the players assoc. Left Seattle as a FA, and cut by the Jets.

No comparison to Mangold

If I'm reading correctly, this would be the worst possible move monetarily for the Jets (not to mention the leadership on offense for a developing QB and new system) as they would instantly incur an accelerated 27M cap hit as he has three remaining guaranteed years. No one has more guaranteed money. DBrick is movable after this season as little is guaranteed after 2015.
As it stands today, Decker would be the 2nd worst option.

There are very few players on our current roster that you can make an argument to keep no matter what.....Mangold is one and..........I don't want to get rid of D'Brick either.

No keep Mangold. He's the Jets best offensive lineman. He's the face of the franchise and the heart of the offensive line. Great Centers are hard to come by.

No way do I trade Mangold but I would not shed a tear if D'Brick was gone.

Fans around the league can only identify 1 NY Jet player and that is Mango ! Ask DL around the league who's a top 5 center in the NFL, and they will say Mango. Plus with the cap why would we trade him, he's the team leader.

Go Jets...Cyborg
