Apparently the Jets have also agreed to terms with this former starting OG from the Chargers

I am hoping this is a depth signing, or at the most a rookie is brought in to compete with him. I would not go into the season with him penciled into a starting spot.

He played in the last 57 games for the chargers in both the center and left guard positions. He can play all 5 of the offensive line positions equally well and in over 1100 snaps he has allowed only 4 sacks and was penalized only 2 times. I've seen him play. He's a pretty decent player and I wouldn't be surprised to see Saleh start him. I think he'd stick his 300+ pounds right next Becton and seal up the left side.

Dan Feeney will be the backup Center who also can play guard a step up from Josh Andrews who was worse then horrible...

I think we could have done better. Feeney is in the Van Roten mold. A time and space player. Wasting our time while taking up space for a competent player. I heard the same thing about the great signing by Mac from the Raiders and All the Pro Bowls he had 2 years ago. Last years great signings by Douglas who knows OL on how you all talked about how great our Offensive line will be in 2020. Most of you blow sunshine up our GM's azz every time he signs an Offensive Lineman.

No GM is going to get every pick or free agent right. So you are faulting JD for trying to fix what may be one of the most important position groups in football? The amount of attention our O-line has got in the last 2 years is more than it got in the 10 years combined before that. I applaud him for doing it in a efficient (IE: not overspending on overhyped talent) manner. You overspend when you are in a win now mode which he thankfully is not. I’ve waited long enough, if to rebuild this team the right way takes a few years to have a consistent winner, I can wait a couple more.

If he plays his cards right we could trade down still be in a great position to grab a blue chip OL, and pick up at least a #2 this year and #1 next year. Imagine 3 #1's next year and possibly 2 #2s. That's how sustainability is achieved, not through big splashes in FA.

And if after doing that (we would obviously be sticking with Darnold) the D man flops, not only is our pick going to be another high one, but with all the other picks we would have, there would be plenty ammo to trade to the top if needed to get the “next best thing” QB that comes out next year.
