Extremely nervous!

Jets faithful, I’m sure I’m not the only Jets fan who feels this way but I’m extremely nervous about this Zach Wilson draft pick. I would much rather the Jets draft Justin Fields but at this point, I would be just as nervous about that pick I must admit. It has been so many years that the Jets have drafted a QB in the first or second round and it hasn’t worked out for whatever reason.

I’m going to trust in Joe D and Saleh to make the right decision but I’m truly not feeling good about this Zack Wilson guy. He comes from out of nowhere from a 2nd or 3rd caliber D1 football conference and takes over Fields as the 2nd best QB in the draft, WTF???

When the Jets drafted Darnold I thought that was it. I thought we had our 15-20 year starter and success story. The QB that was going to help bring us our next SB championship. Strong dreams can die hard I guess. Over the past 25 years the Jets have drafted at least 5-7, QBs in the 1st or 2nd round and it has kicked us in the ass every time.

- Chad Pennington: could have been our success story but injuries killed that notion.
- Kellon Clemons: bust pretty much
- Christian Hackenburg: bust
- Mark Sanchez: mild success but nothing really worth mentioning
- Geno Smith: bust pretty much
- Sam Darnold: unknown at this point. He failed us for whatever reason. Whether the coaching staff, the weapons around him or the oline issues, he failed us. I think we can say this, not every play was he on his back or running for his life. He did have time to throw the ball or make something positive happen but most times he didn’t for whatever reason. He’s only 23 years old and still can turn it around. He just won’t be doing it with us.

Richard Todd and Ken O’Brien draft picks worked out pretty well for us. They played a decent amount of years and had some success but nothing to really stamp in history. Broadway Joe is all we have at this point and injuries cut his career short as well. Well so did all the alcohol, partying and women and all factors took probably 5 years off his career I would say. To be honest, Joe Namath stats wasn’t out of this world. Not compared to today’s standards anyway. He throw way more interceptions than he did touchdowns and his completion percentage was only 50%. His popularity and SB prediction and victory is really all we have to hold onto as far as he’s concerned.

This new regime will be under ALOT of scrutiny if Zach Wilson doesn’t work out and Sam Darnold does well in Carolina. It would be the same pressure and scrutiny if they drafted Fields and he didn’t work out and Darnold did well in Carolina. I just hope there right on this one!!!

I don't like the fact to this day Zach Wilson has been ranked on big board in the 20s whereas Trey Lance has been consistent at 9th overall... Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields have been volleying over the number 1 and 2 spots... Mac Jones steady at 31st overall... If the Jets take Wilson they better hope they can control his growth otherwise players like Fields and Lance are going to make another Jets regime look pathetic...

For a team that won't admit whom they are taking but the whole media reporting in New York is stating the pick is Wilson which makes the fans who believe in their bullshit also on the hype of this kid not to mention this kid is asking former players how it is to play in New York is just how fucked up this organization is, UNLESS they don't take him and take Fields or Lance will be a big fuck you to the media...

This team needs to get it right and not let the media or fans some true others just pretending for the team to take a said person, they need to find the right component to build with...

Jets have to get this right or the franchise will never hear the end of this. Forget this new regime, I’m talking about the organization as a whole. This will be the first time in NFL history that a team has drafted a QB within a three years span as a top three pick, if I’m correct. If the Jets don’t get this right and Darnold is a success in Carolina, not only will Joe D and Saleh stay here be short but this laughing stick bullshit we’re dealing with will continue for a very long time.

Surprised that there's not much talk about the second first round pick

The QB is going to make it or not but this pick is a lot harder and riskier. It desperately needs to produce a top player in one of many key positions of need

The reports (or rumors, if you prefer) center around three options 1) an edge rusher 2)a cornerback or 3) trade up to get one of the premium offensive linemen.

2 1st I go CB or ED. You have to make an impact at those positions in this draft. Newsome if available would be okay with me. Hell I take Basham at 34 if he is still there.

I thought Darnold was our guy, but Gase ruined him.
Funny but i never thought he was . I'm not surprised he's gone even thou i would have kept him and traded the #2 for a huge haul . I think Darnold is going to be a decent QB in the NFL, make the playoffs a ton but never advance to the championship level .

Funny ..... after his first pass was a pick six against Detroit ...... i felt the same way. I never liked Darnold at SC..... but I did like Rosen so what the fuck to I know .....

I liked Rosen also but the fact that he was a statue was a complete turnoff

To most talent evaluators, it seems they all have Z. Wilson as the number 2 QB in this draft. It was said, the Eagles were trying to trade up, but only for Zach. The Jets are squashing that dream, so they traded back.
No pick is a sure thing, not even Trevor Lawrence. If Zach isn’t the answer, then what?? The Jets will become a laughingstock, the Jets have been a laughingstock, from the buttfumble, to Geno getting his jaw broken, Hackenburg, Gase, Darnold seeing ghosts.
Zach not working out would just be another chapter, in the suffering Jet fans handbook.
BUT, if/when Zach works out, that lightning quick release, with those ultra accurate throws to all levels of the field, his maniacal football junkie study habits, quick foot speed, arm talent. A scheme that has proven to work. It will take him some time to acclimate himself to the pro game, Mahomes sat for a year, Rodgers sat for 3. Jets should be in no rush to hurry him to the field, but when he does get there, maybe that is the start of the new Jets fan book, the story of playoffs and super bowls.
There is nowhere to go but up.

I said it before. I dont understand where this kid came from the past month because before that I never heard of him. we could look foolish

also I have said this a zillion times. you cant be tom brady without tom bradys offensive line. and we better damn well give this kid time to not get killed from day 1 just like brady had, or he will be the next Sam. and you cant blame him if he spends his days running for his life like Sam

I dont know which of these qb's I would want but I would choose whoever seems like the next Peyton or Brees if it were me

There is no sure thing. The only hope is we finally have a real GM with real evaluation skills. Fields and Lance are better athletes. I think, but definitely don't know that Wilson is a better thrower. If the Jets get it right, I won't even know how to react.

Brady was sacked 41 times his first year, more sacks than Darnold ever had...

I was sacked once by the jets 47 years ago.......maybe that is what caused them to slide. I even had my own WR with me
