QB question for Jets fans ...

but how many elite QB prospects have there been in the last few years? or the last decade? an andrew luck or peyton manning comes around once every blue moon.

you can't just wait for an elite QB to come out, and hope you really suck the year before to grab him (suck for luck worked out great for the colts, but is hardly a game plan a team can rely on).

personally i'm not sold on either QB, so i won't be lighting the torches if they do pass on one or both. but if macc and his scouts think either can be a franchise (call it top 10 QB), then they should take him.
Thats totally fair, thats a fair argument and hard to refute. You're being totally honest about what we're buying if we take one of the QB's, not inflating them to be something they are not, but if they have enough upside to become TOP 10 QB's in the league, then you think its worth the #6 Pick because its a QB driven league and we don't have a franchise QB.

Totally fair argument. Its also fair to say that elite QB prospects don't come along very often, and when they do, there's no guarantee you will be in a position to draft them. You probably won't, and knowing the Jets they'll win a meaningless game in January to make sure they can't get him.

If the board fell that way, its Amari Cooper or Dante Fowler for me.

I can't say for sure which one I would take. I'd have to study the other stuff you mentioned real carefully before I can make a decision, but if you put a gun to my head and I had to choose right now, I'd probably take Cooper.

I might actually take Fowler since there are 2nd level WR that are very food..Justin Hardy, P Dorsett, S Coates, B Perriman, and a cpl others...Tyler Lockett, Agholor, R Greene, Devin Smith

If I knew for sure we could snag Devin Smith or Breshad Perriman at 37, passing on Fowler would be a lot harder.

That said, I love White and Cooper, so it would kill me to pass on either one of them.

If the choice is between Fowler or Cooper, or Fowler or White, I'm glad I don't have to make that decision.

If you create the impression that you're stupid with the way you speak, then most people are going to assume you are stupid. Call it unfair and say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but the image you portray to the world matters. If you're articulate and make an effort to improve your vocabulary, people will assume you are smart. If you speak like the V-Jay on Sucka Free TV, people will assume you are dumb. Neither has to be true and Winston is clearly a lot smarter than he lets on, but IMO he does a heck of a job at impersonating an illiterate and thats on him, not me.

Its like if you walk into a job interview tat'ed up, don't be surprised if the interviewer assumes you're a shady character and gives someone else the job, even if you're a choirboy in your real life. The image you portray to people matters.

Oh and if you are going to paste my prior posts, why didn't you paste this one too, which came after the quotes you posted, as in, just last night. Because it didn't fit the narrative you're trying to create?

Don't you think that would have added a little more context?

Don't you think that suggests I have an open mind and my opinion of his intelligence may have changed?

I did not see your post on the white board segment. Your coming around. One other thing, someone born in Bessemer, Alabama and played
high school ball in Hueytown, Alabama as pointed out by another poster, probably talks like that. When you assume because of his manner, that
he's dumb tells me your mock draft is bias and unreasoned. I see you have him at number 1 today now which is where he will be drafted. I took
offense to all this because it's Jameis Winston's MIND and as a leader that will make him a star in the league for many years to come. Peace brother.

Every 3-4 years or so, I go back and watch Cuckoo's Nest. One of the best film's ever made.

Love that picture of Christopher Lloyd.
There aren't many movies that had a real impact on me as a viewer, but that was one of them. I was probably about 13 when I saw it in the movie theatre, but I remember it like it was yesterday because the film made that much of an impression on me, but at the same time it was LOL funny, especially that scene when Scatman Crothers was hiding:

Hilarious. So many funny moments in that movie.

When I think of Nicholson, I think R.P. McMurphy. Automatic.

Sorry, didn't mean to take this too far off topic.

Me too, and I'm a big Nicholson fan, but in a career filled with great performances, IMO R.P. McMurphy is the pinnacle of his career, the first and last mention in his obituary when they talk about his professional career as an actor.

That was a great performance, no doubt about it, and a memorable performance too, but I'd have to put it second behind R.P. McMurphy because he wasn't really the star of A Few Good Men and his actual screen time was fairly limited, though without question it packed quite a wallop!
