Just cut out the processed/refined sugar and eat regular food. Chicken, lean red meat, fish, eggs, milk, veggies, fruit, etc. Plus exercise.

Sugar and salt are killers and they put them in everything that tastes good. I gave up both a long time ago and became used to eating foods without them. You develop a menu that you get used to and feel much better for it. Good luck.

i would like a copy of that menu

Broiled chicken with italian dressing and sweet potatoes. Brocolli, peas, string beans, carrots for veggies

Meatloaf and sweet potatoes.

Cod fish fillets with veggies.

Whole grain pasta (small amount) cooked with olive oil and garlic and sweet peas.

A slice of whole grain breads made to toast when hunger is bad. Celery sticks and carrots.

Cinnamon teas.

Unsalted peanuts, cashews, pistachios.

chichi beans toasted.

Pork roast with sweet potatoes and vegtables.

Fruit, apples, banannas, pinnapple, grapes in small quantities.

sardines and onions.

Turkey with the fixins.

Moderation is the key. Very important to avoid white and whole wheat bread and use bread that has multiple grains. It is more expensive but digests very slowly and keeps blood sugar low.

oatmeal, western omlette, bullet drinks with yogart and fruits.
Hope this helps.

It sucks that virtually anything that tastes good seems to be bad for you

The wife and I love food, especially fine dining like the Michelin starred restaurants. Unfortunately, our respective girths reflect that. We also love wine and scotch, which are real killers.

in '06, the doc clued us in on morbid obesity and sent us to a nutritionist. She was, of course a haughty "skinny bitch" and told us to give up starches for life, like forever with no cheating ever. We stuck to it for a long time and lost about 150 lbs. between us. It felt great and we were really glad to have done it. However, it seems impossible to keep up and we regained about a third of it in the past two years. We are really feeling it too, both in health and appearance. We now have to try to get that level back and it sucks. Portion control really helps. Cutting out sugar and salt really helps. I was hoping that they would invent a magic pill by now so we won't have to go through this, but then again I have been hoping to go to home playoff games for years.

Bottom line is that I feel your pain. Cheating can kill you if you don't discipline yourself vis-à-vis frequency thereof.

Here's to hoping for both of our successes in this area.

Thanks yeah they actually make a portion size thing so you don't have to measure yourself. My issue is with no job and always tired when i sit around i start thinking of food and getting the hunger pains.

EXERCISE! I know plenty of "skinny" people who are in terrible shape. I'll be 50 next month and I'm in better shape now than I was at 25. I love my beer, scotch, cookies, ice cream, etc, too, but I also workout 5-6 days a week.
