I can understand trading Foles but Shady? This should be interesting. They must want Mariota.
Mock Muncher has the Jets picking Mariota at #6.
If you are not familiar with scout's Mock Muncher, it's a chaos theory aggravating that swirls all of 30 bobblehead Mock drafts into a centered LIKELY pick for team, position needs, and slot.
It's flaw is that most of the bloggers all end up trying to fit needs to a given pick, when GMs often go BPA regardless of need, modified by prospect availability at the needs positions in later rounds.
Bloggers make crappy armchair GMs, because they don't think about ALL the aspects that go into draft picks, which is why even chaos theory aggravating can't correlate their reality with actual reality.
Each of us can probably make more sense of the Mock Muncher's outcome by surveying and locating the prospects in the configurable ordered lists at or around the (6) slots the Jets will have in this draft. (Rd 4 to SEA for Harvin.)

I hear that Winston is meeting with Tampa Bay today per Schefter so i doubt this will go through but the answer is, if we feel like he will be a top star then hell yes, do it!
When the Titans see how much the Eagles just ponied up to Tampa to get Mariota, Tennessee is going to tell us to bend over and grab our ankles as well ! Let Geno & Hoyer or Jake Locker compete this year and we'll snag the Penn St., Michigan ST. or Ohio ST. QB next year if Geno sucks.

I like the idea of Hoyer competing with Geno. I feel like he would easily beat Geno for the position if he can stay healthy. I haven't watched enough of Locker's play to know if he could compete with Geno.

I say no to trading up. Big risk but I fell Winston falls to us. Tenn seems to be sold on Mecklenburg and the three teams ahead of us I don't think would pull the trigger on Winston. Redskins maybe but because of the commitment money wise and what they gave up for RG3, I doubt think they draft Winston. Other teams trading ahead of us to get Winston I'm not quite sure they are that sold on him to break the bank trade wise to move up and get him. Neither should we! I definitely would want Winston. More then I want them to draft Mariota but don't trade up for him.

Well there goes that assumption. I don't watch Browns football but that answers my question from last year as to why Manziel got the start late in the year. I was wondering where that thought process came from. I still think he would beat Geno out though.

Absolutely not. Neither QB is worth that kind of haul, especially not Winston.
Chip must really love him if these reports are true. If you look at it again from a different angle - the Eagles need to jump in front of the Jets as they feel we will take him, they can’t trade with Washington because they are in the same division (which trades within the division rarely happens) now you are left with the 3rd 2nd or 1st pick. The Eagles must feel that Tampa or Tennessee might roll the dice with either QB and he won’t be there for the third pick and for that reason Chip feels he needs the #1 pick to get his guy. I love the suspense!!!!!:stoned-smiley:
