You've got to be kidding me! I honestly thought our interest was feigned to generate a late pick offer.

Maybe I'm wrong about him. He's been attracting a ton of attention and the new regime also wanted to keep him. Wow. I can't help but notice him always being late in pursuit and coverage. He's a great run stuffer but man, he's lost a full step and he's never been a speedster to begin with.
I'm very surprised.

Cross WR and ILB off our list to address. And FA hasn't yet begun.

I think it's pretty reasonable for both sides. i thought Rex was going to bring out the red carpet in Buffalo and give up 8-9m per year for him. It's looking like no Bart Scotts or Jim Leonards will be following Rex to his new regime. (assuming Snacks isn't offered a huge contract by him)

Definitely.... have to see how much bonus to figure out cap hit this year....

I have to say I expected a run at Brooks Reed or my first choice for ILB in FA, Bruce Carter. I'm not thrilled with this development but it seems everyone else is. Good to see happy Jet fans.

Is no one disappointed to see this move? I see some resistance on the Marshall trade but not this extension.

I expected and somewhat hoped that Harris would go and be replaced by a younger faster player.

But, I recognize that they are unlikely to be able to fill every spot with younger, faster players with high ceilings.

I think Harris remains solid and figure that this lets us concentrate our immediate gap filling efforts in other directions. So I accept it.

the veteran leadership alone is worth it. You don't want a bunch of young guys only in the lockerrom.

Harris has been a very solid player for the Jets, glad we resigned him. He's smart and a leader. He's lost a step, but he can still play at a high level. He was very slow a couple of seasons ago, but last year he had a very good year I thought. I think we will continue to add LBs even with this signing. The Jets need to groom his eventual successor, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if we drafted an ILB.

15 guaranteed seems a bit steep.. maybe the jets spent a little extra to keep harris out of buffalo??

hopefully rex was planning on softening the blow of losing alonso with bringing in harris..

I'm a little disappointed strictly because I wanted to see some more speed out of our linebackers. No doubt he can plug the holes and is definitely a warrior but our issue on defense is covering that in between area on the field (7-10 yards from the LOS). The area that Tom Brady kills us in. Harris is slow just like two of our other LB's Pace and Coples. Also, I thought he'd get a little less. Guess the price of everyone is going up. It's scary to think what Suh and Revis will get. I'd also bet Maxwell gets 10+ mill a year easy and it wouldn't surprise me if he got more.

Happy to have him back but he got more guaranteed money than I had expected. I guess that's the nature of the market, especially with a number of rumored suitors.
