16. TEXANS - TODD GURLEY, RB, GEORGIA
01. BUCS - JAMEIS WINSTON, QB, FLORIDA STATE
I think this is a mistake that will come back to haunt the Buccaneers in a big way. I think Winston is an overrated QB prospect and a shady character off the field, and lots of money doesn't buy character, it reveals it. But the Bucs recently had Winston out to their facility and they seem intent on making him the face of their franchise. Good luck.
02. TITANS - LEONARD WILLIAMS, DE, USC
I think most people agree that Williams is the best player in the draft, and he has everything that you look for in a dominant 3-4 defensive end. Reminds me of Mario Williams.
03. JAGUARS - DANTE FOWLER, DE/OLB, FLORIDA
The Jags need guys who can hit the QB and they get the first choice from a terrific crop of edge rushers. Fowler has the bulk to play 4-3 end and he's the best of the bunch in my view, a terrific combination of power and burst.
04. RAIDERS - KEVIN WHITE, WR, WEST VIRGINIA
Pre combines I had Cooper and White in a virtual dead heat, but White separated himself when he ran a 4.35 at 6' 3" and 215 Pounds, and its been a long time since I've seen a college wideout who catches the ball with his hands better than White. He uses those paws like catchers-mitts.
05. RAMS - *TRADE* MARCUS MARIOTA, QB, OREGON
Everyone is talking about the Eagles moving up for Mariota, but I think the Rams make a lot more sense. First because I don't see the Redskins helping a division rival to secure a possible franchise QB. Second because a move down to 10 keeps the Redskins in a position to land one of the elite prospects in this class, which runs about thirteen deep. Lastly this makes sense for the Rams because it wouldn't cost them too much, just a swap of 1's and their second round pick according to the draft trade value chart, a small price to pay for the one piece that is holding them back from being a legit contender, because this is a really good team if you give them a playmaker at the QB position they can rely on. So they can trade Bradford or play him until he gets hurt again, as always, then let the Mariota era begin.
06. BROWNS - *TRADE* AMARI COOPER, WR, ALABAMA
Brandon Marshall to NY gives Cleveland an opportunity to move up for the immensely talented Cooper, otherwise the Jets would have snatched him for themselves. According to the draft trade value chart, Cleveland would give the Jets their #12 and #43 overall picks.
07. BEARS - DANNY SHELTON, NT, WASHINGTON
It sounds like the Bears will be switching to a base 3-4 and Shelton is that monster in the middle who can anchor their defense. Reminds me of a young Vince Wilfork. Coincidentally Wilfork is now a free agent having been cut loose by the Pats, but he's not the same dominator he used to be.
08. FACLONS - SHANE RAY, DE/OLB, MISSOURI
They can play him at DE or OLB depending on what scheme they are running next year, which is still an uncertainty, but just point him towards the QB and watch him wreck havoc.
09. GIANTS - VIC BEASLEY, OLB, CLEMSON
Beasley surprised everyone at the combines when he weighed-in at 246, then proceeded to run in the 4.5's and excel in drills to show how well he can carry that weight. Ideally he's a 3-4 OLB, but you can rush the OLB from the 4-3 as well, see Von Miller, and that Giants really need to upgrade this spot.
10. REDSKINS - *TRADE* RANDY GREGORY, OLB, NEBRASKA
Orakpo is a free agent and probably gone, which opens the door for the Skins to snatch one of these elite edge rushers. This is why trading down to 10 makes so much sense for Washington. They can add an early 2 and still snag one of the elite edger rushers in this draft, and this is not the last of them either, don't sleep on Alvin Dupree.
11. VIKINGS - DEVANTE PARKER, WR, LOUISVILLE
If ever a team and a player were a perfect match, this is it, thats why just about everyone is making this same projection. Bridgewater would have to be thrilled if the Vikings can reunite him with his Go-to-Guy at Louisville.
12. JETS - *TRADE* ALVIN "BUD" DUPREE, OLB, KENTUCKY
Do not for one minute think Bud Dupree takes a backseat to the edge rushers ahead of him. Everyone was raving about Beasley's 40 and combine performance at 246 Pounds, but Dupree ran in the 4.5's too, only he did it at 6' 4" & 270 Pounds!, and he led the SEC in sacks over his college career.
13. SAINTS - TRAE WAYNES, CB, MICHIGAN STATE
If it gets to 12 and Dupree & Waynes are both still on the board, the Saints can't lose. Either their coming away with an elite edge rusher, or the best CB in the draft who offers length and 4.3's speed.
14. DOLPHINS - BRANDON SCHERFF, T/G, IOWA
Scherff has all-pro potential at guard and thats a big need for Miami.
15. 49ERS - Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
Physically this kid looks like Calvin Johnson. 6' 5" - 237 and he runs in the 4.4's, and he's freakishly athletic too. The problem is his rap-sheet and red flags out the wazoo. Ultimate boom or bust prospect. Either he stays out of trouble and its the steal of the draft, or he doesn't and he's the next Josh Gordon. IMO its worth a gamble for a contender like the Niners.
16. TEXANS - TODD GURLEY, RB, GEORGIA
Some might call this a risky pick with Gurley coming off a torn ACL, but ACL's are not what they used to be, nowadays you fix them up and the player is like new, and Gurley is the closest thing I've seen to Adrian Peterson since All Day was playing at Oklahoma. Size, speed, power, cutbacks; he has it all.
