Ughso you guys happy you did not leave after the first two picks?
TCT, my thoughts exactly. I didn't like Sauce at 4, I really wanted KT. However, collectively, this is a very nice day 1. The fact that we were able to hold onto 38 is an added bonus.
What a great draft. I give it an A plus. Now let's see what Douglas can do tomorrow. Still need a safety Dane Belton, Brisker available. Maybe an interior offensive lineman and Breece Hall is still available at RB. We could also use an LB.
They got Deebo by the balls. 1yr left and 2 tags. From the GM in his predraft presser when he stated that he couldn’t see trading away a player the caliber of Debo . I usually tend to take people at their word .
The Jets are getting a lot of love for what they’ve done. Can’t argue with it. Good prospects at big positions of need. I wanted Edge and WR. I’m satisfied.Overall I'm happy. Didn't like the WR pick but I can live with it. Master stroke by JD getting back into the 1st AND keeping 38. Big move there imo. Now some LB'ers an RB TE and some depth at OL and maybe another WR late and I will be a happy Jet Fan.
Although giving up 69 will probably cost them getting my guy Asamoah, but you have to give to get. So far, so good.
Value for the spot. They could have had him at 10.This is what I don't get about Prisco...see his commentary below about Gardner
"4. Jets: Ahmad "Sauce'' Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Grade: B+
If you are to win the AFC East, you have to stop the Bills and Josh Allen. That means cover corners are at a premium. Gardner is the best cover player in the draft. This should mean more man for Robert Saleh and crew. Good pick. "
If this is how he truly feels, then why a B+? Shouldn't it be an A?
And Strahan made his money beating Runyan like a drum on his way to puttin D-Mac into the turf. It happens. Hopefully Lawson is healthy enough to keep the Olines honest.I’m actually a little more nervous about the Jermaine Johnson pick. I think it’s a decent gamble on a big position of need, but JJ had half his sacks in two games against garbage teams. Was he whipping a bad OT for sacks? Are the 11.5 sacks last season misleading?
Sorry don’t mean to rain on any parades, but just reporting a scouting report I’ve read. He is good at setting the edge against the run. So I’m not worried about that.
