Coach, zero in on a guy with a sound football mind who knows what system is best suited for the roster, when and what to call situationally. We don't have to go onion layer deep. That plus our defense should give us a nice record and we'd be enjoying a game in late January, not kicking a can out of frustration annually.

It's going to be extremely tough to get anyone to take this job if Saleh & JD are on a "playoffs or be fired" mandate. There is just no one in their right mind who will be willing to go into such an unstable environment (unless it's an unknown who will take the shot and try to make a name for themselves).

IMHO Salah's looking for one of the remaining playoff teams personnel to get his OC.

Loyalty is a great attribute. I do however think a football decision to better a team is not wrong if you don't pick a guy who was in your scout troop.

Wide net….. catching nothing. Fishing is better with good bait and viable locations. We have shit bait and trolling a cesspool

El Woodpecker says Saleh and JD are not on a playoff mandate, but do you believe him? Is a 'playoff mandate' fair bearing in mind we are in the Division of Death, the Bills are locked in for the next eight years or so, the Dolphins get Tua back next year, and we know that Belichick will turn the Patriots round (and we couldn't even beat the current version).

Should have kept what we had and hoped he learned. Sent him to summer school
I agreed with this, until the rumors came out that he refused a veteran coach to help. He clearly had his issues, but he seems to be absolving himself of any responsibility or accountability for his part.

Zach sucked, O line was devastated and sucked, and LaFleur’s inability to put players in the best position to succeed, inability to call anything remotely successful in the red zone, and inability to ever call a balanced offensive game plan ALL SUCKED!!

Plenty of blame to go around, and if he can’t even acknowledge that he needs help, he’s not the right guy for the job.

Might not have been the worst idea if he was paired with an experienced play caller, but I got the impression that he wasn't keen on sharing the job or accepting help. Could explain the mutual parting result. At least the players might not have been learning a completely new offensive system.

Didn't Hackett and Russel Wilson turn Denver around and make them Superbowl contenders ? :cheezy: Did he call the play on the "1" for a pass with Marshawn Lynch ready to roll for a SB victory vs. the Cheaters? Hope I am wrong.

Bevell will come crawling next year for a job after the Jets become a Powerhouse football team.
