Let's face it.
We sound like drowning men arguing over the color of the life jacket somebody throws us.
I don't care.
Just get any of the experienced QBs we've talked about and I'll be happy.
Later
Look Yellow makes Sharks hungry......would pick drowning over one bite & I am gone :)

Man, how great must the world look to Carr knowing this? "Carr has a no-trade clause written into his contract that he can waive at his discretion, as well as a Feb. 15 trigger date that guarantees $40.4 million."

It's from the article below about Carr winding up with the Saints. As with claims he's coming here, it's all conjecture.

I say go with white
I don't believe he will be released. What I heard is that the trade offers have already been agreed upon and it's just a matter of Carr choosing the team that he wants. Why would any team just let a player in demand go without getting anything for him ?
I can think of two teams that could do that

In the same token, why would teams give up a ton of assets for a player everyone knows they want to dump?

It's called desperation coupled with the hope that a different environment will yield different and better results. ;)

Yeah unless we want to throw a 4th or 5th at Carr, I'm waiting until they have to cut him.

Possible, but, in a bidding war the price would in all likelihood go up. In reality Carr could refuse to pick a team in which case they absolutely would cut him to save 40 mil. He then could go to the highest bidder maybe getting a better deal which is also a gamble for him because maybe no team would be willing to meet his price and he'd be sucking hind tit. It's a gamble for everyone so we will have to just wait and see how it all shakes out.

As much as I don't want Rogers. The Jets will trade for Rogers and unload moocha Draft picks while putting us in cap hell and eventually losing good players. Because we were not able to re-sign them in the future,

My fear exactly. He could play 2 years and retire and because of the way they will have to set up his contract we could be on the hook for 60 mil or so after he's gone. Wouldn't that be nice ?

You are all Debbie Downers...... Rogers comes here & wins two super bowls......teaches Wilson so he can win three more.....& those pretzels come back to the stadium parking lots.........All the time CH spends his time under his bed thinking Brady will be back at any time.

Wont be a ton of assets for Carr. Teams will give up a pick to secure him and not have to compete for him as a FA. If you miss on Carr, then you have to give up a ton of assets in pursuit of Rodgers.

See thats where I don't understand why you would have to give up a ton for Rodgers. GB is ready to move on so they don't have much leverage. If I'm JD, it's Carr for a 4th or 3rd at most. Rodgers for a 4th. Or Get Jimmy G for nothing. Fighting for a 39 year old soon to be washed up QB with a high draft pick is career suicide.
