I feel like this will now help Pryor play the ballhawk roll in passing situations and closer to the line on running situations. Which gets him out of playing coverage and he sucked at that. He should excel this year.
FML I burned all 3 of them!!
Darrelle, you still have some unfinished business. Twice you were two games short. Let's get it done.
This team brings in a little help on the speed rush, and the defense may very well be stacked.
Cimini has to throw in that last remark to throw cold water on the situation, but everybody in the world knew that this was going to be the price for Darrelle Revis, and the fact that its really only a three year deal, last two years not guaranteed, is ideal because he should have three really good years left. Cimini is being his usual d**k self, but this was a good deal for the Jets for the caliber of player Revis is and considering they had to snatch him away from a hated division rival and the defending champs. I thought Revis was gonna ream us a lot worse than this.[TWEET]

Revis' first 3 years: $16M, $17M and $15M. Of that, $39M is fully guaranteed. Imagine that. That would be awesome, Jets starting off 1-0.
Stay safe dreamer.
Ouch. That was an expensive decision, but understandable. How many people could've envisioned this scenario? Revis coming back two years later?
The good news is, a new Revis jersey has staying power: he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Reported 5 yrs at $70 mil. F$ck, that is a lot of dough but as long as he stays healthy, he is worth it. Good job Mac and Bowles.

How many of you are STILL mad at Idzik for NOT spending all that money left over last season?
Because without it this year, Mevis is playing in NE or somewhere else.
I don't like giving a 30 Y.O. player a five year deal, but the 14 million per is about right for Revis, not a bargain, but its not wildly overpaying either. That said, we had to concede something to snatch him away from the Pats, so offering the fifth year was probably a necessity.
Same deal as Patrick Peterson...who was the #1 paid CB...now they are tied. Shocked revis went for that
was a lurker, left the dying JI after several years there. finally decided I had to post!

Yeah I know, FLG, I was a little late in figuring that out, but now I like it even more. Really there's nothing not to like about this deal. Revis is getting paid market value for an elite corner of his caliber, and its really only three years, which is ideal considering his age. He should have three good years left, so its a good deal for the Jets. Honestly I'm surprised Revis didn't hold us up for more than this, because he really had us by the kajones.Glad to see your off the ledge Ham.
This isn't a 5 year deal, in reality it's a 3 year deal
This is a good point and I'll tell you why. Up until now I've only talked about how we can get out of the deal after three years at no cost, because only the first three years are guaranteed, but the last two years we have him for 11 Million Per, which is like three years with two option years at reasonable money, so in the off chance that he's still playing at a high level after three years, we can keep him at reasonable money, these are essentially team options, not player options. He turns 30 this year. The deal is more a three-year deal, so if his play drops off, you can let him go.
