Part of the fascination of continuing to watch this slow-motion train wreck whilst actual NFL games are going on at the same time is seeing how long this situation can hold. The defense are getting increasingly chippy and eventually fights are going to break out and players are going to get ejected.
Once the team is officially eliminated, you will see a bunch of players on defense "stand down". They know their time here is almost done and are looking to avoid a catastrophic injury which would void making money somewhere else.
