is this the stop gap we need?

Adam Schefter reports (barring a playoff berth) that Browns QB Brian Hoyer is not expected to return to the Browns next season.

I am all for getting either hoyer or bradford to be a stop gap for a season or 2.

I prefer Bradford. Hoyer hasn't played that well for the Browns. He does have them in the playoff hunt but he hasn't been that great. Bradford has potential he's just always hurt...

+1. No way am I banking on Bradford becoming a franchise QB for us, but he'd be a fine stop-gap. We would absolutely need to draft a QB to groom though.

I would rather have Bradford. he is young and when he has played he has played well. You never know maybe you catch lightning in a bottle

Hoyer SUCKS!!! He has worse accuracy than Geno or Sanchez.

Hoyer is tied with Smith for accuracy at 56.6. He is better in every other category.

Smith's real problem is turnovers. Hoyer has a turnover every 28.83 times he throws the ball. Smith has a turnover every 15.2 times he throws the ball. That's horrific. Worst in the NFL over the last 2 years. That's almost 2-1 difference.

I can't imagine why he is still out there.

Don't think.so...

If Suckchez doesn't throw away their playoff chances this week.vs Dallas, Kelly will be starting Foles in the postseason

Could be, but Foles had fallen in disfavor before the injury also. Sanchez has a few more shots

I don't want either of them. Maybe Foles would come available.
That means the eagles sign Sanchez to a long term contract and to build around him. I hope so for his sake, I love Mark, but he will have to prove a lot for Kelly to sign him long term and say this is my guy.

There arent a lot of good guys out there this year. Either Hoyer or Bradford would be near the top of the list with hopefully the idea that they are a stop gap.

Matt Moore from Miami is a FA as well and probably could hold things down for a little bit.

Outside of that who knows who could shake free. There are 3 guys is Washington and at least one has to be available. The Sanchez/Foles situation is something to watch as well. Ive always been a Sanchez supporter but I really doubt he comes back but if he gets a new deal then Foles might be an option.

What happens in Buffalo with Orton? What about Houston with Fitzpatrick, Mallet and Yates?

None of these guys are awesome but if we have a rookie on the bench then a vet with experience will be needed. With that said Geno isnt going anywhere. Maybe he is the guy to hold it down until the rookie is ready. Scary though I know but at least we would have hope behind him but the fans would probably pressure to play the rookie by week 4.
