Interesting, a chance to compete for the RG position I guess. Cheap deal - more competition. Certainly hope one of our young guys takes the spot. Or a rookie draft pick.

he's got the right attitude you want on the o-line. Nasty. his play has diminished but hard to argue with vet minimum and the depth
generally speaking, contracts are only guaranteed if a veteran player makes the roster day 1. so if he's beaten out in camp (hopefully the case) and doesn't make the team, he wouldn't even get the money (and no cap hit for jets).
given he's gotten a veteran min contract, i can't see any of it being guaranteed

So far Jets bring in 2 OGs, 2 maybe 3 CBs, they are bring in safeties left and right, trade for Fitzpatrick, and add Marshall...ie Mac doesnt trust a single player Idzik drafted to add to the roster...
I agree with Nick and MV.......good depth signing IF he makes the squad. Puts a fire under his butt and maybe slows down the penaliy machine a bit....

Actual not too bad as a psss blocker. The 12th best for guards by PFF (1 sack allowed) but one of the worst run blockers and committing penalties.
Still not bad for league min. I'm not coming into the season too high on the Oline. They are average with one great player. They might be a little better than last year with Carpenter but not at the level they need to be. We will need to draft a tackle badly. Maybe DJ Humphries will make it to the second round.

But Colon's run-block grade (minus-16.3) was one of the worst in the league, per PFF. And he was flagged 12 times for penalties—tied for fourth worst in the league, per NFLpenalties.com—including seven pre-snap infractions.
