I agree. Their oline, DBs, run game, and WRs wont scare me at all going into the season. Their front 7, Gronk, and Brady will be formidable. They will be favored, and should be, but no one knows how Bowles will game plan and what his in-game adjustments capabilities. Jets will have a secondary and amazing front 7 to give brady and gronk and edelman fits and at least slow them down...lets see how Gaily attacks them with ivory, marshall, Decker, and Amaro...other than McCourty, and all the B to A+ Cbs off the market...how the pats match up with our offense. Butler was punished all game till that final INT...and that guy who hadnt made a catch all year is no Brandon marshall. Are they going to make Butler a #1 CB and match him up with marshall? If so, McCourty will have to help that side, right? Who covers Decker and now McCourty isnt on Amaro...
No, SE is right, just another team in the division.
It was the 2014 Patriots who won the division and the SB, not the 2015 Pats. The team already looks drastically different, and that is by subtraction, not addition.
They were not great at stopping the run last year, but they jumped out to such big leads that teams had to pass against that secondary. This year, their secondary scares nobody. And if the Jets overpaid some for Cromartie, look at what McCourty got.
Brady still needs to be respected, and they still have about a dozen good slot receivers and tight ends. But I don't know who they have that can stop anyone else. It is a far less complete team right now than it was last year.
