I don't see a RB going that high for quite awhile.

I def don't see why we would at all much less #6

I agree but the point is there are people saying Gurley will be a top 10 pick and at least one fairly intelligent analyst at a major site has Gurley going at 6. So, it's something to begin to consider.

Is he Adrian Peterson good, even before the knee? If not, why would this even be a sliver of a consideration? If so, will he be ready to play in 2015? I'd love a stud RB but post-ACL makes me nervous this high.

Gurley is an excellent RB. Off a blown knee. This draft is to RB's what last years draft was for WR's. Tons of them.

Some people are also saying Gurley could go late 1st, early 2nd. Almost no chance the Jets will take him at 6. Just to many pass rushers, and good WR's at the top of this draft.

Lol, I've been banging the Gurley drum for weeks now. With that said I wouldn't take him #6 . I do think he has AP type talent but I have reservations that he can hold up in the NFL long term. He is a physical runner and takes punishment. IMO, he will have a short but brilliant window in the NFL. 2nd round and I am all in, but not at 6.

For the record, I still think Duke Johnson fits better with what we need. That would probably be the better target for Chan's offense and the need currently on our roster.

For what it's worth, the Sirius NFL boys all feel that Melvin Gordon 6'1/207 is a better RB than Todd Gurley 6'1"/226. Plus Gurley just blew out his knee. I can't see a RB going in the top 10.

SOJ would take Gurley at #6 . This coaching staff and FO doesn't seem to be SOJ so I serious doubt he will be taken at #6 . Maybe the 2nd round pick.

Gurley had a chance to be the first RB taken in the TOP 10 in a long, long time, because his combination of size, strength, power, speed and agility was reminiscent of Adrian Peterson at Oklahoma, so I see where Baldy is coming from, but IMO its impossible to take him that high off a torn ACL. I still have him going in the TOP 20 because his talent is so immense and ACL's are not what they used to be, now guys bounce back like new, but its hard and foolish to take a player in the TOP 10 who is coming off ACL surgery, if only because you'd be passing on healthy elite prospects to take him.

But can I see Gurley being a steal for someone later in RD 1?

Absolutely. I view Gurley as a RB who can approach 2000 Yards in a single season if he stays healthy.

i can see him going late first round to someone like the pats who basically have a 2nd round pick because they are at the end.

If he falls to the Patriots I'm gonna be sick.

I like both backs, but prefer Gordon because of his health. Gurley is a talent, no doubt about it. But coming off a major injury like that, the Jets should pass. It takes two years for players to fully recover from those kinds of injuries. At 6, that's too much risk. In the second round, sure fine. One of favorite players in the draft is Melvin Gordon, so if the Jets moved back and grabbed him, I would be happy with that.

But I tend to agree that pass rusher or WR are the strengths of this draft, and would anticipate the Jets go that way, if they don't take Mariota, if he's even there at 6.

There are a couple of positions I dont think you should spend a top 10 pick on, and RB is one of them.

If he's there in the early second, maybe.

Its amazing how much RB's have been devalued. Kind of sad too, from a nostalgic POV, but I understand how the game has evolved and how every rules change over the past thirty years has been geared towards encouraging more passing, but there was a time when RB's were routinely taken in the TOP 10. If memory serves me, I believe we took Freeman McNeil at #3 , right after the Giants took Lawrence Taylor at #2 , and nobody thought that was too high for a blue-chip RB, that was standard procedure back then. Guys like Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Billy Sims (Great RB whose career was cut short by a knee injuries, back when you were never the same after tearing an ACL), but RB's even went #1 Overall.

I can't see us going RB in the 1st unless we are trading down and grabbing one.

Duke Johnson in RD2 is my preference if we need to RB... Personally I would rather see our draft go something like this in the first 4 Rds

RD1 - WR Cooper or White
RD2 - RB Duke Johnson
RD3 - OLB Davis Tull - Short arms but crazy speed... Might just be a pass rush specialist.
RD4 - QB Bryce Petty
