Gave us nice depth, and wasn't too expensive. You need depth to win.

Ellis never lived up to his potential @ Penn St., or Hampton U., or the Jets. He'd make a good play then take the next two off. He was our starting NT before Big Snacks beat him out in camp. Plus now we'll see more 4 man fronts with TJ Barnes 6'7"/364 the biggest Jet ! Ellis was good depth, but I'm sure the Giants over paid for him.

Listen I like Barnes potential as a monster, but if your argument is that Ellis didn't play hard enough, and tj is a good replacement, what are you basing that on? Tj had 4 career tackles.

With a 53 man roster unfortunately we can't keep everyone. Film don't lie, and I could tell immediately when Snacks was out and Ellis was in. Big drop off. And honestly, I know very little about Barnes, except Rex loved him. As bad as the Patriots need a NT to help replace Wilfork, I don't think they made a play for Ellis. I think he's lazy.

Fair enough, I'm just curious why he never is allowed on the field. He was udfa with Jacksonville, cut, signed to Jets practice squad.
