I think we end up picking around 4-6 . Only remaining win would likely be vs the Saints but hopefully we loose that game too. Then maybe we move to the 3rd spot.
If we can't get the first from the Giants, I would love to see them trade down and get a couple of extra picks this year and another first for next year. Could really restock the roster with all the premium pick in the next 2 drafts. Agree that the QB should come next year. He would be joining a team with weapons,who can protect him and hopefully a much improved defense. I believe we have close to 100 million in cap space for FAs also.
I might even bring Fields back with Cook and a mid-late round pick or UDFA to ensure the 2027 pick are high.
2 first this year and 3 second round picks and 4 firsts the following draft would be a dream scenario.
Glenn has to prove that he can coach guys up and build a culture before any large commitments or trade ups. Mougey should be instructed to use excess draft capital to build a war chest for '27 when they likely hire a new coach and then the Jets need to be attractive to the next HC. Glenn has shown very little so far and might not be the right guy so everything else is probably pointless until he is replaced. Grab Tomlin or Harbaugh after they get fired.

They have some capital if they want to move up. They own the Falcons pick plus their own, Jets could easily beat that with 2 earlier first rounders.
Up until this past week,I think he is doing a good job. We have a young roster, youngest in the league, and a bunch of guys discarded for 6th and 7th round picks who are playing well.
The wins will come once the roster has legit talent.
His fuck up came last week. Not giving Cook first team reps was criminal. No way can Taylor ever be counted on to last a full game. Or even a full quarter.

I just saw on the NFL site that the Jets currently hold the #5 and #18 picks. Mendoza might be as good as you think. I don't trust how college QBs have transitioned to the NFL. I wouldn't give up a lot of assets to get him. It's to much of a gamble. If we can't get him without giving away the farm I think a one year vet rental would be a better option and get the QB next time. We need another guard so Tippmann can move back to center and the Defense needs real help. We still don't have a dependable #2 receiver. This team has totally sucked at run stopping all season and that has to be fixed.
#7 and #18. Trouble is, who is this obvious guy who we are going to get next year whilst hopefully being in a worst position vis a vis the draft? We certainly need a starting-caliber guard and a stud LB and possibly a solid DT.
If you believe that Mendoza is the real deal, you move up. In an ideal world you would have the team in place but the Jets have $ for free agents and a load of picks for the next year.

Word is Fields will start Sunday. I definitely don't think Glenn has been awful, but he has made many mistakes.

I believe the Rams may think Mendoza's the goods. I like the guy. I like the 2 stud WR's going in the top 10 as well.

I disagree. Go back and watch the coaches film. There's receivers open on every play.. He doesn't have a QB who can make the throws, but they are there to be made. Now the DC has to go.
I posted several times I'm open to everything, including trading back a few spots. I think we are going to be moving up as several teams ahead of us play each other and lesser teams. If we can lose to the Saints we could pick as early as 3. Drop back add another 1 next year, a second and or third this year and load up for the next QB. I'd love to see Boston drafted. I'm honestly not sold on either Tackle. Need LB, DT, Safety as well.

I think the majority of the fan base is missing the fact that this team has been setting up for the future and have really taken a shit situation and are now poised for a complete remake.
Have to look at the entire picture. This was a 5 win team with Aaron Rodgers, Devonte Adams and others, stripped down to bare bones and still more competitive. The dead cap, and lack of talent cost the season, but the moves made should pay off
