Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton injured in car accident in Charlotte (PHOTOS)

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was involved in an automobile accident outside of the Sporting News' offices in Charlotte, North Carolina Tuesday and transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Initial reports are vague, but according to The Sporting News, Newton's black pickup truck flipped at least three times after making contact with another vehicle. The accident occurred near the intersection of Church Street and I-277, close to Bank of America Stadium.
Authorities have not yet updated the condition of those involved in the accident, but Newton was seen smiling and conscious before being loaded via stretcher into an ambulance.
