What if he's fired at NO? Would he be considered a top pick? I think he'll jump at the top of the wish list for me. SB winning coach with a great offensive mind. He knows NY from his time being an assistant coach here. What are your thoughts?

According to Peter King, he believes Payton may have run his course in NO.

"I am starting to think, I just started thinking this in the last week or so - Is it possible that Sean Payton has reached his expiration date in New Orleans? This is his ninth year, a lot of times a coach gets to be in his ninth, tenth, eleventh year in a place and he starts to feel a little wanderlust, he starts to feel 'are they still listening to my voice, are they still getting my message.' And his mentor in football, Bill Parcells, always would leave a little bit earlier than later. I wonder if Sean Payton is going to get that wanderlust and try to go somewhere at the end of this unsuccessful Saints' season," King said.

I'm aware he had drew brees, but I still would take Payton over Harbaugh in a new york minute. When talk of replacing Rex came up, I said multiple times on JI that I'm all for replacing Rex if somehow got Payton or McCarthy. Maybe we'll get that chance?
