Here's a guy knowing he risks many millions of dollars by smoking that doobie (why this is such a big deal to the dinosaurs of the NFL, I have no idea) but couldn't resist, just the same:
Nebraska DE/OLB Randy Gregory admitted to NFL.com that he failed a drug test at February's Combine.
He tested positive for marijuana. "I blame myself," Gregory said. Even before learning of the flunked test, two executives told NFL.com's Kim Jones that Gregory had concerning "off-the-field issues." Gregory claims he used to smoke marijuana to deal with anxiety, but has moved past it. "I don't wake up every day saying, I'd really love to go smoke," he said. "It's not a struggle for me every day (now), it really isn't. In the past, hell yeah, it's been a struggle. It really has been. Now, I'm focused on my dream." Gregory says he last smoked marijuana in December. Mar 25 - 11:58
This is a major red flag for teams considering him as he fully knew he was a top 10 lock and still couldn't resist. What's going to stop him in the future from going back on this when stress will only multiply? It's so ridiculous that the NFL cares one iota about this. I thought this was a free country.
This may explain why the Vikings at 11 are so heavily linked to Gregory...they know he'll drop. That's a big risk for teams in the top 10 to explain to their fan base that their high draft pick is suspended.
