Just the feel of this says to me that it drops him to the second half of the first round - someone will take the risk there. He has high upside, but the risk is now real.
This does change the arithmetic around the jets pick - changes the game a bit.
Gregory is talented, but I thought he was too lean for us to pick him at 6. He needs to bulk up a bit. But this news probably takes him off the Jets board entirely. No way they can pick him now. His draft stock will plummet.
This might affect what happens in the top 6, but I honestly thought Gregory was going to go later in the draft to the Falcons. The Jets are going to get a good player at 6 if they stay there. If they move up, I would think it would be for Mariota. If they move back, they must be targeting other positions. I still think pass rusher is the pick, but I could see them going in any number of directions.
Mac and Bowles have already earned my trust as a tandem based on how they have handled free agency and how they are approaching the draft, and even next season. They are not accepting mediocrity on any level, and that is refreshing to see. Which is why I think Gregory is probably taken off their Boards today. A poor decision off the field immediately before the draft is too big of a red flag to overlook.
i wonder if the seahawks players get tested even though it is now legal in seattle same with the redskins and dc?
Yep, I have him falling behind all of them and all the way to 15 in my updated mock draft.Beasely, Ray, and Dupree should be smiling real big...his agent is not.
lol yeah I caught that too.If he would be satisfied with Mon,Tues or Wed but no he has to do the whole 7..LOL
If he slides to 37 I'd take him in a heartbeat,What a dumb@$$!
Don't think it affects Jets much - unless he slides all the way to us in the 2nd round which would make for an interesting decision
I know you guys know WAY more than I do, but it's killing me that there's only one pass rusher in many of your "Top 6 Wish List".
I want the next JPP way more than the next OBJ . . .

Then we should trade back. Vikings and Cleveland will try trading up for White or Cooper if they fall to us...we could still trade back and land beasely, Dupree, gregory, or ray...
Of course the trade option has to be offered, but if it was would you take it? Or are you that sold on White/Cooper being THAT much better than anything we'd get later?
I don't see the great need for RB that you apparently do. I agree 100 % on OLB and QB as our two biggest need areas now that the DB abyss has been fixed in FA
Im honestly not sold we need to draft a WR that high at all. We need QB, OLB, and RB more than WR, IMO...but WR would probably be #4 on my list. My "preference," would be to complete the defense with a stud pass rusher to play opposite Coples and learn from Pace and go RB/WR later. I do think there are only 10 WRs I'd be excited to see us add, its not as deep as last year's draft. I dont think you'll see as many non-first rd stud Wrs in this draft as last year...hell, no one even talked that much about Latimer, Robinson, or Moncreif from last year's draft class at WR...wait till the league sees them this year. I think they'll be mentioned with names like Watkins, Evans, and beckham. Matthews and Lee may have bigger years this year also. I dont see that level of talent bleeding into 3rd, 4th, 5th rds like last year. is Stephon Diggs a nice player we can take rd 3 or 4? Sure. is he Jarvis Landry, Moncreif, Bruce Ellington, or Martavis Bryant from last year's draft? Not in my opinion. There isnt players with the upside in this draft at WR in those rds that last year's class had. Last year's draft class had #1 caliber Wrs going 4th and 5th rds. You wont see that again for some time, IMO.
If he slips to Rd 2 you grab him, IMO. He has #1 overall pick potential. If people can look past that idiot Winston's mistakes (he did do a puff puff past move walking into his bowl game this year on national TV), you can get passed this as the rule will change in the next 2-3 years anyway. By 2016 it will be legal in over 10 states...

i think RB is a big, and largely over-looked, need for this team
we have ivory, who has never had more than 200 carries in a season and a history of injuries, and powell, a nice complimentary back, but never been able to take over the lead role. and both are under contract for just the 2015 season.
now RBs are seemingly the most replaceable position where mid round rookies can step right in and do well, and many teams rely on a RRBC, but i don't think i'd feel that comfortable going into the season with just those two. this is especially the case given our uncertain QB position, so we will need to rely heavily on the running game.
given the depth of the RB class, i'm really hoping they use a pick on the position.
