So far, there is way too small a sample size to say anything about Simms. This is why I wanted him, and not Vick, to get snaps last year. For that matter, the acquisition of Vick made zero sense to me.

I think they are alluding to the possibility of taking Mariota, which may, or may not be a pre-draft smoke screen. Simms will be on the team for the OTA's, and camp, but if there is a draft pick at OTA's he will take away of lot of Simms oportunity to show what hehas, if anything

Actually Simms played well in that game. I thought you were talking about the game with Buffalo that was moved last year, where smith was once again benched for bad play, and Vick came in, and also stunk the place up.
Even against a prevent defense
We may not have the answer in Smith or Fitz..but they are LIGHT years ahead of Simms....

As long as he is on the roster he will get practice snaps how many and how often will depend on gailey.

However, as a Jet fan, I sincerely hope that Smith dramatically improves this offseason, wins the fair four way competition, takes the Jets to a SB Championship next February and is inducted into the Pro Football HOF on the first ballot!
