Guys, the number is 6, right? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then 6..pretty sure that's still how the number system works.

Mariota
Winston
Williams
Fowler
Cooper
Beasely
White

There are 7, as in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7...

It is impossible, to the best of my knowledge, for 7 players to be gone in the 5 picks before the Jets pick...not sure my math is correct, someone can double check, but I am about 100% sure it is impossible for 7 players to be taken in 5 picks still.

Guy..... The thread is about possible trade out senarios at 6, not who we would pick. You list 7 players, with 2 WR. I'm still of the opinion (at thats all it is) that White and Cooper will not be trade up targets. The class is too deep with WR. So now we are down to 5 players ..... and we pick 6 . There are probably 5 to 6 WR going in rd 1.... Now white and Cooper are the class.... but you can throw a blanket around the other 4 or 5 and the drop off isnt that deep. Example.... why would say the Rams or Cleveland (who needs a receiver) move to 6 for White or Cooper and give up picks, when at 10 and 12 they could probably still get Strong, Green Beckham, or that super fast kid out of Florida Atlantic (I believe). Now if Beasley or Fowler fall..... a trade out could be a possiblity because the edge rusher class (although good ) isnt as deep.

The same reason the Browns traded a 5th to move up from 9 to 8 for the CB that can't tackle, Gilbert last year...they wanted that guy for their defense.

Its easy as a fan to say "the difference between Cooper at 6 and Perriman at 12 isn't worth the second rd pick you give up to get Cooper...

But if you watched Wes Welker in Miami vs Wes Welker for the Pats, it is like watching 2 different players. Why? Tom Brady is the easy answer, but Welker in the Pats system is night and day better than Welker in the Miami system.

All systems do not fit the player...if Cleveland feels Cooper is a better fit than Parker, Beckham, and Perriman...isn't it worth trading up for the guy you feel best fits your system?

Also, sorry for mixing up the player discussion with option discussion...I wasnt saying you couldn't count, my point was every player cant be off the board when our pick comes up teams want to trade for...

I understand and respect your opinion on this..... and you may very well be right. I just think that Mariota, Winston, Beasley and maybe Williams are the only players in the top 8 to 10 that are potential trade up targets for teams. I think there will also be movement in the second half of round 1 for the likes of Gurley and Gordon. And to he honest, I would like to see a trade out if we can get it...but I think we stick at 6. What I would really like to see is our first 2 picks being Sherif (sp) and AJ Cann..... Our O line would be set for awhile

You dont think Cooper, White, or Fowler are trade up options? Parker is much slower and less athletic than White..Perriman is the only person close to White's natural ability in the draft...I could see a team thinking those 2 are about even...

I, personally, do not feel anyone brings what Cooper brings to the table, speed with great route running....I do think Amari Cooper bringing what he does to the table at 20 years old and 210lbs will be a sexy prospect.

You may be right teams wont trade up for White and Fowler with Ray, Beasely, Gregory, Dupree and Perriman also in the draft...maybe...

I just think Cooper, White, Perriman, and Dorsett are the cat's meows at WR in this draft...then their is a tier 2 of maybe parker and Beckham, then a huge drop off. All potential rookie starters will be off the board by pick 40-45, then there is a gigantic drop off in talent, IMO. I dont think this draft is as stocked at WR as people say...I think there is more like 7-10 guys and most will be gone by mid rd 3...so if you want a guy, its worth making a move for your guy.

I am hoping we get the top OLB rd 1 and Dorsett rd 2...I really love that kid. He reminds me of Santana mixed with DJax...

I agree with your receiver assesment. But here is where we differ. (mind you ..... My pick at receiver would be cooper). But here is the issue...... If we were to take a receiver....he would start out as the 4 (no way is Marshall, Decker or Kerley hittin the pine). Teams probably know and realize that, so the target trade either moves to 4 (Raiders) if I gotta have a Cooper/White or 7 (bears) to take the second of the 2 (or perhaps a choice of the 2). I havent seen the Bears linked to a receiver (or I missed it).... I think teams know we are more apt to take an Edge guy than a receiver, so unless someone wants to jump the bears.... I dont see a trade up for any of the receivers involving the JETS and #6 It doesnt mean that White/Cooper arent worthy of a trade up.... I just dont see it with us at 6 when a team could do it at 8 or 9 perhaps. Now edge rusher is different because I think everyone feels thats the way we are goin to go...so if a Fowler or Beasley are there ....we very well may get some offers.... but unfortunately, I fear they will be gone before 6.

But .... interesting conversation with you and I appreciate your thoughts on the subject....

FYI - a lot of reports have the Bears trying to get Mariota; and if not successful, targetting a Marshall replacement. personally, I think they have plenty of holes including CB, OL, and LB (getting younger) to go with WR and QB...so they can go in a lot of directions.

NFL Network just posted an article about the Bears making a run at Cooper about 30 minutes ago:

Here's an article about White being a good pairing with Cutler and a Thomas like player for Fox and Cutler to work with from earlier today:

Breshad Perriman visits Bears

A receiver who could be headed for the top 20 has attracted the attention of a team in the top 10.

Central Florida’s Breshad Perriman, the son of former NFL receiver Brett Perriman, visited the Bears on Sunday, per a league source with knowledge of the situation.

It’s unclear what the Bears will do with the seventh pick in the draft; the interest in Perriman could be a precursor to a trade down. Tall and blazing fast, Perriman would be a compelling addition to a depth chart that is led by Alshon Jeffery.

In his first seasons with the Panthers in 2002 and Broncos in 2011, new Bears coach John Fox used top-three picks on pass rushers: Julius Peppers in Carolina and Von Miller in Denver.

Perriman has drawn interest from multiple teams, including the Steelers, Eagles, Lions, and Ravens.
