Most teams begin offseason program today. Jets already 2 wks in and Mo Wilkerson still not there. Working on his own with his trainer. #nyj

I think so otherwise he could have been signed already.. If Mo and his agent are looking for a JJ Watt lite size contract he may be wearing a different Jersey come Sept..

at least we know he won't be going to the bills because they have no first to offer.

Terrible thread... Overreacting...

Mo is posturing for his contract... Jets will get him his contract.... No chance he gets JJ watt Money but he will be paid well. I think Woody learned from Revis you don't let talent like Mo leave the building and you reward the loyalty Mo has shown....

Just my opinion... But this is classic Jets fans making more of a situation then necessary..

actually it was just a thought............and if bowles spoke to some key players and veterans he could be traded without it affecting morale or the lockeroom.

The key is bowles and mac would need to get a few key players in there corner and then this could be a option esp if it is to move for a franchise QB that the players esp the veterans have been longing for.

When we traded Abe he was already a All Pro which he did in year 2, Mo hasn't even made a Pro Bowl yet so thinking a 1st rd pick isn't happening..

Talent wise Mo isn't on the same planet with Revis.. He's a very good player Revis was a All Pro considered to be the best at his position Mo isn't..

If they thought they could get Williams at 6, have him replace Mo at a MUCH cheaper price and get a premium draft pick in the process, then I could see it happening.

However, the chances of that happening are less than Revis signing a discounted extension, so I'm pretty sure Mo is gonna stay in green . . .

They don't have to get Williams they can move Coples back to DE and get the extra pick and draft a OLB..

I wouldn't be in favor of getting rid of elite talent unless we were (potentially) getting elite talent back.

From what I read/hear, NONE of the pass rushers grade out at their position the way Williams does at his. So I'd prefer to maintain dominance up front (and potentially even improve it) and let everything else play off of that.

But as usual, what do I know . . .

not sure why this would be considered concerning. it's standard operating procedure in the nfl for players with contract issues to hold out from voluntary camps. just a click on espn's football home page will show that antonio brown is sitting out the steelers voluntary camp, as is AP in minnesota (although i'll grant AP is a different issue).

if it gets to actual camp in august and he's still MIA, then i will be concerned.

i remain confident mo will eventually get his long-term deal. i would be very, very surprised to see him used as trade bait

did the jets ever say they weren't trading abe?

in any event, completely different circumstance. abe was a 4-3 DE (with an injury history) and the jets were shifting to a 3-4 defense when mangini took over. abe wasn't a fit for the scheme and most assumed the jets tagged abe with the intention to trade him.

mo is under contract, fits bowles' defense, and the jets have given zero indication they are seeking to trade him or don't see him as part of the long-term future.

As a rookie abe had 4 1/2 sacks in 6 games before he was hurt with a sports hernia. He was playing as a OLB then in the 3-4.. Even in the 4-3 he was light as a DE at 250 +

I'm not understanding this Wilkerson trade talk either. It makes no sense to me. I don't believe there's any truth to it.

Anyone thinking they should entertain ANY trade things for mo are assinine..uless a team, offered 3 first roud picks.....everyone relax..MACCg said their was a priority of thigs and he will be addressed after the draft..which should be the case.....and I don't blame him for not going to workouts..hes working out at home or privately...NO BIG DEAL
