That would suck...and I like Gurley a lot!
No doubt in my mind that RB is a huge priority in this draft. Almost certain we take someone by round 4. Gurley is a health risk but he can do a lot of things that Chan wants. For a bigger back, he can catch out of the backfield. He probably was the best kick return guy in college football when asked to do it, so he is versatile.
At #6 ? I don't love it. Too much injury concern. Trade back to the teens and take him there if you like him that much. No need to force it though with Gordon and Duke Johnson also on the board, who are studs in their own right.

I would not be a fan of this pick. Running back is not as high a priority to me as several other positions. I understand BPA, but Gurley would be a reach there. I think he's more of a mid first to early second prospect. As the big day approaches, I will be shocked if the pick isn't one of the edge rushers, Cooper or White, or Mariota. Scherff is a guy that makes sense, too. Based on value and need.
Come on guy's, McShay changes is mind more than my wife @ the Mall ! He also has Williams dropping to 7th for the Bears.
With this said, I'm not too excited about the Ridley RB signing, we should have signed CJ Spiller instead.
Everyone is locked in on the Raiders picking Cooper @ 4. If Williams the USC stud DL is sitting there @ 4, there is a 50% chance he will be a Raider.
That would leave Cooper for the Jets @ 6 which would make me happy.
For the next 8 days about 90% of everything you hear and read is nothing but posturing for the draft.

ridley signed a 1-year deal for basically the veteran minimum with low guaranteed amounts.
spiller signed a 4-year, $16 million contract with $9 million guaranteed. he also signed with the saints, and if i were a RB, i'd probably sign with the drew brees-led team instead of the jets.
so the two players aren't exactly comparable, as if we chose one over the other. unless you don't consider the salary. and the fact that the players gets a choice.
Posturing is right. It seems like the Winston situation changes by the hour regarding Tampa's interest level. A lot of talking going on. And much of it probably has little to no substance to it.
I like Gurley a lot, but 6 ... this is the definition of trying too hard to be unique.
These Mock drafts are so damn irritating. First you have the pundits, experts whatever you want to call them that change their mocks every damn week because they just feel like it. Then you have the guys that change them because of rumors and speculation. Then there are the guys who change them because of rookies dropping or escalating they status because of pro days, combines and off the field stuff.
Then there are the guys who change their mocks off trades and team needs changing through FA. It all amounts to rumors, speculation and just talk. For us die hard fans that live and die off football practically its just mind blowing lol. He has us taking Gurley now and we already have Ivory, Ridley and Powell. Not to say we can't use a RB but not in the first, second or third really if you ask me. Our primary needs are QB, LB, WR or o-linemen. Picks yours choice which way we should go in what rounds.

while i wouldn't take gurley at #6 , i would definitely consider taking him later in the 1st if we trade down. and to me, RB is 100% an option with a 2nd or 3rd round pick. i think it's one of the biggest needs on the team, given that none of ivory, ridley or powell are under contract past 2015 and none of them are particularly good at catching the ball out of the backfield, nor do any of them have breakaway speed. add in ridley is coming off a torn ACL, so he's not even guaranteed to make the team.
This guy is just looking for headlines..there is NO WAY Jets take Gurley at 6 NONE..NADA....4 out of top 5 guys could come up with dirty urines and he STILL wouldnt be our guy
