I saw someone say this year's WR class will be better than last year's and almost vomited. Everyone knows the studs from last year's class that stood out year 1:

beckham had the greatest rookie year all time for a WR
Evans
Watkins
Cook
Benjamin
Jordan Matthews
Landry
Josh Brown
Martavis bryant
Moncreif
Davante Adams
Lee
Hurns

...all these WRs stood out and had good to great rookie years...

This year, Robinson, Latimer, and Bruce Ellington will be added to the above list of starting caliber WRs and standouts from this draft.

After Cooper, White, Perriman, Parker, Dorsett, Strong, and beckham...there isn't that next tier of WRs we saw in last year's class...not even close. Sammie Coates would be after every name I just listed in last year's class, Devin Smith would be a 3rd or 4th rd prospect last year.

I dont think we'll ever see another WR class like last year.

At the end..he mentioned always likes to draft a 3-4 OLB at some point to put in the pipeline, because they dont always develop right away..mentioned Steelers as a team..that did it well.

They are assumpions from my part.....deduced from him saying he weighs into account medical and character concers...not necessarily taking guys off board..but mentioned specifically...he takes into account..risk/reward/what round it is.... some guys off totally.. which he actually admitted...and some guys just put further down on chart...

Unless he is the best poker player in the world..those are my assumptions.....he was very candid about everything he talked about..I am sure the presser will be on video on Jets site soon..look and see what you think...

I agree last years WR class was better in depth and maybe special players..but it is skewed since they already have an NFL season under their belt....the evidence for or against this class hasnt been written yet...

Which is a fair statement, but even if you just look at the depth of the prsopects last year vs this year, it's not close. Last year guys like Latimer and Moncreif went 3rd rd...but I would argue grade out, from a talent and accomplishment standpoint, higher than Parker and Perriman who will be mid 1st rd picks...

Last years class was deeper with stud talent, so you were still getting potential # 1 and # 2 WR's in the 3rd and 4th RD's, it was ridiculous, and unforgivable that we didn't get any of them, but this years class, while lacking that kind of quality depth, has two bonafide, elite # 1 WR prospects at the top, two potential BIG # 1 WR's (Parker & Perriman) just below them, three if you want to throw Strong in that group, followed by two intriguing RD 2 burners (Smith & Dorsett) right behind them. There's some good middle round guys too, Lockett etc., but overall not the kind of ridiculous talent that was still on the board in RD's 3 and 4 last year. So at the top its fairly close, even if we give last year the nod, but last year was one of the deepest WR classes I have ever seen ... and we have zero to show for it, thank you Idzik and Bradway.

Its true, thats not an exaggeration, which goes to show you what a complete aberration last year was. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that again ... and I hate to beat a dead horse, but with 12 Picks and a dire need to upgrade at WR, we have absolute d**k to show for it.

we have a new and it seems better coach/GM so that is a win.

one more year of rex and I don't know what I would have done but he really made me indifferent to watching them.

These last two years the fire wasn't there like usual with me.

I am so psyched though for our new regime.

I agree, after what I witnessed in free agency, I'm very excited about this regime and actually expecting them to hit a home-run in the draft. I never got the feeling that Idzik was up to the job, and free agency last year confirmed my worst suspicions that the man was in way over his head, but Mac has given me the opposite vibe, I see a guy who has a plan and acts with extreme aggression to make his vision a reality, thats why I'm predicting a slight trade up for Mariota at an affordable price, I just have faith that Mac is gonna get his man and it won't cost us a fortune to do it, because the man is THAT competent. I have a good feeling about Todd Bowles too.
