Second round I think we trade down but if we don't -
Devon Smith WR (we need speed to stretch the field more than a big body receiver)
Cann OG, Fisher OG (we need a guard very bad and you could argue this may be our top need)
Maxx Williams TE (Out of the box pick - Pats have shown that a two TE system can be deadly)
Petty QB (taking a chance on a guy with talent that could develop).

He's sideline to sideline MLB. I think he's similar to Vilma when he came out of Miami. A little small, but will be fine behind our dline.
Absolutely no need to trade up..plenty of great options in first 5 picks......would love trade down 8-10 for another 4th.....

If it's WR, I want Green-Beckham (he brings the big play threat that teams have to account for)
If it's RB, I want Duke Johnson (he brings versatility and play making ability to the offense)
If it's OL, I want TJ Clemmings (not a sexy pick but a pretty good one)
If it's OLB, I want Randy Gregory or Harold (Gregory was once thought to be a lock in the top 3)
If it's ILB, I want Denzel Perriman (he is a great football player and always at the ball)
So those are my choices. They disappointed me in round 1, so I'm not expecting much.

I know. When the pick was first announced, it felt a lot like last year's draft to me.
I'm with you here except at the RB position. Don't think T.J. Yeldon would be a better RB for us? Especially with Ridley's and Ivory health issues and neither appear to be a three down back. Yeldon is as I'm told. Powell would be that multi-purpose RB we can use.

I THINK The UCLA De ( Double O) will go very early on day 2.
The Jets did a very good job as you can't pass on the best player in the draft when they surprisingly drop into your lap.
last year i thought the complaint was we reached for players. this year we took someone regarded as possibly the best overall player in the draft. now i too wanted white, but it's clear they went for talent (in their opinion) over strict need (and given we have decker, marshall, kerley and amaro, i don't know if WR was really such a huge need).

If this kid is half of what they say he is, Jet fans will be having too much fun rooting for him to complain that we "didn't fill a need" (that doesn't even exist in 2015) . . .
DGB or Duke Johnson would go a long ways to giving this offense something we haven't seen in years. Can't rule out the QB though. That is very much in play at this point in the draft.
I didnt say the rationale for the feeling was the same. Even if we always took BPA last year, but kept missing on the deep WR class, Id feel that way. Last year we missed on a stacked WR class because we reached. This year it may be due to BPA. It still feels like we're not filling any holes...which I felt was our biggest issues with 12 draft picks and $50+ mill cap space last year...all this money and picks and no holes filled. In free agency we filled holes, but went into the draft like most 4-12 teams...still with a lot of holes. Yesterday I felt we have a chance to fill a hole where Marshall is an aging big WR on his lsat team/contract...we can groom a replacement...same can probably be said for Brick. instead, we filled a position with 3 25 or less year olds already on the roster...meaning 1 or 2 will get bumped off the roster in their prime down the road. So you can cheer for BPA, but lets see if you are cheer in 3 years when Sheldon Richardson is a Raider. SG3 will say something stupid like having Williams had nothing to do with Sheldon on the Raiders, or Miami, etc...but locking up Mo or Sheldon would be a priority if not for Williams...so there is an impact.
Too many people are excited for the short term...im worried about the long term. You cant pay Sheldon, Mo, and Williams $15 mill a year each...you just cant. So dont draft the position if you cant sign the 25-26 year old pro bowlers at the position on the roster if you draft another 3-4 DE...
he can develop into JJ Watt, and Ill still be pissed every time I watch Sheldon Richardson make a big play on his new team because we drafted the next JJ Watt to replace him when we cant afford to sign Williams and Sheldon when the time comes...
Its easy to be excited now until you see Mo getting 10-12 sacks a year for Houston or Sheldon on the Raisers...
The reason our oline stinks now is because we didnt resign a 26 year old RT. I guess down the line when we dont resign a 26 year old sheldon, we can look back and be excited that we drafted his replacement when he never needed to be replaced...
