Which teams are having the best draft?

I would be pysched if I was a Titans fan. Mariota throwing to DGB is a pretty good tandem.

I also like St. Louis who now has Todd Gurley running behind big Robert Havenstein.

Lastly, the Bears look good with Kevin White and Eddie Goldman.

So my top 3 as of right now:

1) Titans
2) Chicago
3) St. Louis

The Jets really are having one of the best drafts

How do you see the jets having a great draft? They drafted Leonard Williams who will be a part time player with the 6th overall pick. He won't start over Mo or Rich and Bowles is not switching to a 4-3. BPA or not, it was not a need position. Five other teams ahead of us drafted for need. Now our 2nd and 3rd RD picks I am happy with.

Chicago is having a good draft.

I understand it's a long, long time for Jet fans since we've had a GM who had scouting savvy and understood what the purpose of the draft was. We got used to Tannenbaum who loved to piss away picks for big splash moves all based on need...Sanchez, Tebow, Greene, Hill. Holmes and others and then we hired another personnel clueless capologist in Idzik who was scared sh*tless to make any moves. And actually it was even worse for decades before that with Parcells buying groceries and Kotite, Steinberg and Hickey calling the shots and making the Jets a draft laughing stock and punchline for decades

So, the angst about finally having a GM that knows what he is doing and understands draft value is understandable

Jets are having a great draft. 2nd and 3rd picks are not only need picks but great character players and appears they are excellent players also. Now Williams I wasn't happy with at all originally but he is the best player or ranked player in the draft. We don't know how this thing will turn out with Mo and trade or not, Bowles will make it work and get this kid on field to produce major. Other then us the Tennessee did a great job. QB, WR and T. Tampa Bay, Oakland, Chicago, Dallas and Jacksonville also.

Whenever you draft the best player in the draft. You are having a good draft. And Bowles will have Richardson, Williams and Wilkerson on the field a lot together. Everyone scratched there head when the Giants would keep taking DL with the drafts they had Strahan and Osi why Tuck why Kiwanuka. 2 Super Bowls later we know why you take the BPA and figure the rest out later. And Again Williams was not only BPA he was the best player in this draft. The guy plays the run, has great pas rush ability and has a motor that doesn't quit. In other words he is Sheldon Richardson but more athletic.

And Rd 2 Smith is the burner type WR we need and he isn't a one trick pony. Yes that's what OSU had him do a lot but the kid worked hard to show he can run the all the routes since the Champion game

Rd 3 this Mouldin kid is special. Plays with a high motor. Much faster in game than combine numbers. Very athletic.

Yes we have had a great draft. If you don't like the Williams pick fine. But I remember everyone saying the same thing about us picking Richardson and ok pretty sure everyone loves that pick now.

Ok, my take on the Jets so far (warning: it's not all green and white roses)

1) Leonard Williams: If we go to a 4-3 or a 4-2-5 then I love it. If not, I see it as a missed opportunity to improve the overall team. He's a player, no doubt. Now it's up to Bowles to find a way to maximize the personnel to justify this. Grade: incomplete.

2) Devin Smith: the biggest wildcard in our draft. Here is a player who caught 33 passes in his entire season at Ohio State. It's funny because people are always comparing receivers who did well at the combine as "the next Stephen Hill". If anyone has the possibility of being Stephen Hill 2.0 it's Smith. He ran nothing but go-routes in college, and this was after OSU lulled teams to sleep by running it every play. Is his deep speed that legit, or did he just benefit from being the guy who caught defenses cheating up, just as Hill did when he was in college? I think Smith could be great or he could be a complete bust. Boom or bust here and I think there were better, more complete WR's on the board when we picked. Grade: C+

3) Lorenzo Maudin: A kid that will be an immediate fan-favorite. He does have durability concerns though, just like last year's 3rd rounder and we all know how that turned out. My question is this: is the 5th rounder going to be worth missing out on Garrett Grayson, Duke Johnson, and Eli Harold? Because that's what flew off the board between our picks. This is such a tough one to call. He's a guy who runs 4.85, had injuries, and regressed his senior season. I don't think he's the answer to our pass rushing issues. Grade: C+

Caveat: I do believe in Macc and I whole-heartedly believe he knows better than me. I love how he's bringing in character and guys who are coachable and accountable. The Rex's knuckleheads era is over. We still need a RB and a QB desperately. Let's see what they come up with today.

Some of my favorites:

Atl - Beasley OLB, Coleman RB, and Collins CB LSU
Panthers - Funchess TE and Thompson OLB/S (red zone - benjamin, Funchess, and Olsen)
Texans - Johnson CB, McKinney MLB, and Strong WR

Best draft: Browns - Shelton DT, Irvin OL, Orchard OLB, and Duke Johnson RB

Browns & Raiders are killing it so far. We would be A+ if we had gotten Harold @ OLB instead of Mauldin, but the 49rs jumped us.

Agree that the Browns have hit a home run so far. I had Cam Erving as the 2nd best Seminole in this draft (there are 12 with a shot to get drafted) and I had Duke Johnson as one of the 10 best overall football players in the entire draft (who they got in round 3). I love Danny Shelton as well.

Nice overall roster but, like us, they have no QB.

Yeah, just ask Davente Parker's mom about the Browns QB situation. :). If you haven't read it, she hammered the Browns organization on Thursday.

Williams is arguable the best player in the draft with comparisons to Merlin Olsen. His presence makes negotiations with Wilkerson more real. I give the the Jets an A- overall which is not bad for a start.

that's my take as well.

You get 1.5 years, after year 2 if you haven't shown enough they draft your replacement. The years of 2-3 years to determine are gone because your 3rd year they've already draft your replacement. Ask Geno and Winters.

That argument it takes 2-3 years to determine is long gone. People sound old when they say that. If you haven't noticed, GMs and coaches are fired after 2 years these days and player get a year and a half before fans turn in them. If that wasn't true, Milliner, winters, and Genos replacements wouldn't already be on the roster....

Listen..the Jets know their stuff better than us..they had Harold in for a visit..maybe he turned them off personality wise..Jets seem very character wary..which is good, ..maybe they thought he was too light..maybe they would have picked Mauldin anyway since he is a thicker OLB..important in Bowles scheme, maybe they thought..with MACG scouting background...he was a better person and player....I don't think anyone can condone this trade at this point..because..we probably would not have take Petty w o it....since that was an extra pick....

In fact NOONE knows how draft will be until they play, FOR ANY ONE TEAM,....anyone thinks different..is to say it mildly...missing the boat...and DONT UNDERSTAND
