Jets trade for Rams running back Zac Stacy

Here's a guy who rushed for approx 1,000 yards as a rookie, is healthy and in the prime of his career, and comes cheap for two seasons. Best move of the off-season, potentially.

I don't think we have a dominant #1 on our roster though. I have a feeling this position will be a huge priority in the draft next season.

The pick the Jets traded for Stacy was acquired in the Bradon Marshall trade. So they turned a 5th-round pick into Marshall and Stacy. #nyj

Milliner still has a shot and has talent.

I agree, I didn't want to give him away, I just never dreamed we could steal Stacy for a 7, the kid is only 24 year old and a 225 pound bowling ball. This was a heist and I love it. I'm thrilled to keep Milliner and anything else of value.

Stacy is relatively comparable skill set to Ridley, although I'd say Ridley is more talented overall player. Ivory still best pure runner

I don't think we have a dominant #1 on our roster though. I have a feeling this position will be a huge priority in the draft next season.

We don't have a dominant feature back, but a lot of teams don't have a feature back, the Pats haven't had one for Belichick's entire tenure and they've won four SB's. Its nice to have one, but its a dying breed and most teams are going with the RBBC, including us. This trade gives us a solid RBBC for the time being.

I made a mistake, I spoke without thinking, it happens sometimes when opinions are flying fast and furious during the draft, thats why GM's get paid the big bucks.

Its easy to sit back now, especially after we see what he cost us, and think ... man that was dumb!

I think Ivory is basically a poor man's Marshawn Lynch. He's a great downhill runner, and is too often underrated. He has to be your #1 , as getting him carries will wear out a defense.

Much in the same way that the Devin Smith pick diversified the receiving corps, the Stacy trade diversified the running back contingent.
