Snacks went un-drafted for the same reasons and we wisely scooped him up, small school and multiple knee surgeries.Scratching my head on this one. Big bodied NT coming off a knee injury. I don't see the need.

This kid has legit NT size and strength and its worth a shot with a 7. Like I said, we lost Ellis this year and might lose Snacks next year. We can't pay Snacks with all the money we need to pay Mo, Sheldon and Williams.
People will kill the Jets for taking another D-lineman, but we lost Kenrick Ellis and Snacks on the last year of his deal, and this kid is a nice small school NT to groom, 6' 4" 321 Pounds.
Nah! Its a late Rd pick. I am thrilled with picks 2 through 7.
Awesome find, 51, thank you for sharing it.An article written back in February sheds some light on why the Jets made this pick and the potential upside of Simon.

Good Observation, Nick, sometimes it does happen exactly that way, you start off scouting one player and another one jumps off the screen at you. A lot of scouts will tell you they found players like that. The article mentions his play against Baylor. I wonder if Macc was looking at tape of Petty when Simon caught his eye.
