Never thought I'd see this. NFL.com grades Jets draft

Agree 100%. I feel pretty confident that, at minimum, Williams is going to give us solid production for years to come. Just need to Bowles to maximize the strength of the personnel. But if Petty develops into a quality NFL starting QB, this is what will make it special. He's the key.

Williams is the key, IMO. He's built up like Reggie White and JJ Watt. If he's close to that, this will go down as one of our greatest drafts regardless of the others picks. He needs to be our best dlineman to warrant the 6 pick long term.

I think when you factor in Stacy and Marshall also came from picks in this draft, you have to feel good about the talent added to our depleted roster.

On ESPN NFL Live show earlier today, they had a overall draft elimination tournament including trades. Consisted of all the NFL teams obviously and the final four was NYJ vs. Baltimore and Seattle vs. Jacksonville (I believe). Jets and Seattle advance and the Jets beat Seattle in the championship. Impressive!

Once I saw Patriot ass kisser Heath "Biff from Back to the Future" Evans reluctantly hold up (but refuse to wear) a Jets cap and admit they had the best of all 32 drafts,. I knew it was indisputable that Maccagnan had hit the walk off Grand Slam Home Run that even us Jet "green glasses wearing homers" thought had happened.

Even almost all the posters here were JetsFansUnited in that conclusion.

Yeah, right there you can see the true hatred between the Jets and Pats and everyone affiliated with them for each others, Lol. One of the guys one the NFL Live show says he believes the O-linemen we drafted Harrison will end up being a starter and contribute major. Sweet if that happens.

Deon Simon in the 7th???? WTH is that all about? We have probably the deepest DL in the league right now and they add yet another? That is a real head scratcher.
You can argue BPA vs. need on Day 1 & 2, but I find the idea of considering need just ridiculous in round 7. I don't think you have any idea of what you'll need if/when this guy is ready to contribute. I think you pick the guy that you see something in more so than the others that are available at that point, completely without regard for position or need.

You know I am deeply concerned about all of you homers jizzing all over yourselves. This really is getting weird.

On paper, this is an excellent draft. ON PAPER, it is. So leave it at that.

The real test is seeing how much these youngsters contribute over this season. If one gets injured after 3 games? No matter how good that player may have done in that 3 games, he's still just another Dexter McDougle. A guy that has shown nothing to show he was worthy of being selected.

If we can get our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th round picks to contribute whether it be off the bench or in the starting lineup, then this will ultimately go down as an excellent draft. But until then, all this is is a bunch of weirdos diddling themselves.

Right....... because it's always wise to judge a draft after one season of contributions. Nothing like instant gratification. Draft picks are long term investments. We'll know in a couple of years their value/impact. It is draft time though. We need something to get excited about. Not all of us break out Rex Ryan photo albums to get excited by.

I totally agree with you guys about it looking good on paper and needs to be shown on the field. However, normally it does not look good on paper to even be able to have this discussion. So that is a plus in my book.
