But the longer Milliner is hurt and McDougle isn't, both players notorious for being China Dolls even before coming to the Jets, the better the chances for McDougle making the team.

However, Marcus Williams from Va-tech continue to look awesome after closing the season strong last year opposite Adams...

It's honestly not funny. Many people from the old board are still hanging onto every Idzik player still on the roster so they can one day scream from the mountain tops Idzik was right about something...anything...and they won't admit he was one of the worst GMs in Jets/NFL history (he's secretely one of their favorite jets GMs all time). The fact he was brought up shows one such fan with his climbing shoes on.

If you are honest with yourself deep down you must know there is no truth to this.

I am sure no one is unhappy with the way things ended up with MacBowles. What we actually had on the old board were people saying 2 years was a short window given to Idzik especially since he was saddled with a HC not of his choosing. That is very different than the way you like to portray the way things were.

well before you guys got here (& i'm quite sure on every other jet forum) it was debated if idzik was given a fair shake..

at this point it's old news..

even the staunchest supporters of idzik would have to agree the move to mac has been fantastic so far, yes??

jets fans united at least on that stand??

2 years was all Kotite got...did we need more time with him as GM to know he sucked?

a huge step in the right direction. Even idzik knew he was the wrong man for the position, even if fans didnt, ...or 5 of his 12 picks wouldn't have been off the roster before the end of their rookie year...

he'd draft a player, and then immediately cut them or sign a player to start at CB...or RB...or QB...then cut them...some before even playing a preseason game.

When you hate your own free agent signings and draft picks...that should tell you (and others) something...

Not sure how we got this far off topic. As far as the original subject, I am VERY cautiously optimistic about McDougle. We can only hope Milliner is healthy and can play well. If both of them do, they can be way cheaper versions of Cromartie and Skrine (or Gilchrist?) in the future.

It's onward and upward!

Once again I am very happy how things turned out but comparing Kotite who was given the keys to the kingdom to Idzik who was hamstrung from day one is unfair IMO

I would argue his moves in a bubble regardless of coach saddled with were a epically bad...

...unless you consider 50 mill of cap space and using it to add Dimitri Patterson to solve cb issues and having 12 picks in one of the deepest drafts all time and not cashing in with his 12 picks Rex's fault...which it sounds like you'really implying.

He only had control of what he had control of...and revis, cro, and another wr to go with decker was there for the taking for idzik...everything Mac did idzik had the resources to do the previous year.

There is no way one can appreciate what Mac has done and not see what idzik did was a disaster...no way...
