Milliner/McDougle Status?

alright.... let's get this back to Milliner/McDougle.
WHY?
There's nothing left to discuss that hasn't already been said.

Milliner has been pretty much a bust - that's a FACT, when you consider his #9 overall draft position.
#9 picks PLAY - and CONTRIBUTE - they do NOT sit in a hot tub & hobble around on crutches for the better part of a year.
For now, he should practice his ass off and PROVE he deserved to be in the NFL at all, and until he does PROVE it, he isn't worth the effort to depress the keys any more.

McDougle - why is ANYONE still talking about him?
The faster the Jets dump him, the faster they can sign a REAL football player and start developing him.

Just sayin' - if I was a moderator, I think I'd lock and move this thread to cold storage, until preseason is half-over at least.

Who do you think would win in a fight? Milliner or Geno?

Good stuff

Both of them would probably start in the ultra shitty Milwaukee area CheeseEaters defensive backfield whereas they are battling to be rotational nickel and dime guys behind 24 and 31 on the New York Jets

This thread illustrates the beauty of this offseason. We went into training camp last year with Milliner expected to be our #1 CB across from Dmitri Patterson and expecting McD, & Wilson to be in the mix for nickel and dime roles. This season, we have plenty of depth even if neither of them contribute. Anything we get from these guys will be a bonus. Would be really nice if one of them can stay on the field this season and be a player so we can replace Cro and his $8MM cap hit for 2016.

It's honestly not funny. Many people from the old board are still hanging onto every Idzik player still on the roster so they can one day scream from the mountain tops Idzik was right about something...anything...and they won't admit he was one of the worst GMs in Jets/NFL history (he's secretely one of their favorite jets GMs all time). The fact he was brought up shows one such fan with his climbing shoes on.

Still taking shots.

Yeah, that was Idzik's ONLY good move. You win 55. Great debate.

I don't know where to even begin with this.

So I won't. I don't have the patience for a six page explanation as to why Milliner's a bust after blowing an Achilles.

How is a player that tears an ACL in TC a bust before playing any real game time snaps??
Miliner had rookie struggles, not unheard of, but got better as the year went on. He earned rookie of the month the last month of the season. He was hurt all last year, even when playing the cheeseheads. When he finally gets back to 100% healthy and then doesn't contribute, that's when i'll call him a bust.
With the McDougle logic, i feel bad for the Jaguars. The #3 overall pick is a bust. Jaguars better look high and low to find a REAL football player.

Agree completely

Except that the ACL tear was 100 percent the fault of WRECKS and his coaching staff for putting a healthy CB (on a team with no decent CBS out on the field on the all important crucial extra point coverage ST unit

Fortunately the WRETARD and his sycophant CS will be ruining the Bills this season and far away from Florham Park

Bob, If you are going to claim being a part time Jet fan on a serious Jet board, please do your due diligence before making stupid negative comments about Milliner & McDougle. Milliner is only 23 and McDougle just turned 24. With Revis pushing 30 and Cromartie already 31 and probably done after this one year deal, both Milliner & McDougle could be our starting CB & nickel backs of the future. Injuries happen in tackle football, and hopefully MaccBowles will be patient in their recovery process.

Will they be ready at all to play this year or will it be another year or recovery for them?

Who cares how old Dee Milliner is. He had a very serious injury(Achilles injury) that not to many players ever come back from ever the same. That is a very tough injury to have at the cb position.( who knows if he will ever be the same player the Jets envision when they drafted him.

Dexter Mcdougle had an injury Acl that a lot of players have come back from. ( usually takes two years to recover fully) So you have to like his chances of developing into solid cb eventually .

Milliner should be ready to go by TC. Dex is ready to go now

Revis, Cro, Skrines, Walls and 22 are also ready to go

Raiders fan, like our resident Milwaukee Cheese heads fan is sad because any of the above would start for Oakland or Milwaukee right now

Dee Milliner heading for the pup list. Expect him to miss the first six games at least. That is a very serious injury ( Achilles tear) that very hard for any player to come back from.
gives the Jets time before they have to make a decision on what to do with Milliner.

Highly unlikely Raiders would have any interest in Milliner( Achilles injury) or Mcdougle ( doesn't meet the height requirement as they have only one Cb on their roster under 6'.( that isn't by accident- think Seattle type of cb's.

Brent Grimes and Leon Hall have both come back from Achilles injuries in the last couple of years playing the same position as Milliner - if Milliner sucks, he sucks, but its not because of the injury.

The way I look at it, don't expect anything from either guy this year and anything we get is a bonus. Hoping one if not both can play decent roles in 2016. Also interested in seeing what we get out of Marcus Williams this season, really liked what he did last year when he got thrown into the deep end as a rookie.

Revis is under six feet. Guess you couldn't use someone like that..............

There are always exceptions see one Cb ( Dj Hayden) on their roster under 6' feet. No one will ever mistake Dexter Mcdougle for D Revis. Even the D Revis of today- no where near the player he once was.

First off Both Leon Hall and Brent Grimes were very good cb's before they tore their Achilles. They aren't the players they once were before the injury. ( still both are rare players that come back from that injury- more exception than the rule) Dee Milliner was never very good prior to that Achilles tear, and now losing some ability due to that injury - do you really like his chances to develop into player the Jets envision when they drafted him number 9. Jets will be very patient with him , and I will be surprised if he's a go by training camp. ( no need to rush him as he way down the depth chart- need him more down the road). maybe see him eventually moved to safety.

The Jets need Mcdougle this year, and are counting on him to be contributor to their secondary. Like a lot of young Cb's it's paramount he stay healthy all training camp.( Only way you get better is by getting the reps)

You have to remember, folks, that in the delusional world of Raider911, if you made a list of the Raiders 53 final players and the Jets final 53 players ( or those of any other team) and ranked them in order of quality, his Raiders would rank 1 to 53 and the Jets or any other roster would rank 54 to 106.

It's why the Raiders are in the playoffs every season.

We only have to put with his prediction of Raider greatness annually until October 1 when he goes into hiding until March

I feel sorry for those dozens if JI posters that took his bet on last year's Jet vs Raider game, won easily and never got paid
