BM or OOTP

Anyone else addicted to these simulation games.

I love the fact you can rewrite history

No matter what I do no one comes close to hitting 755 hr's over a career hell i haven't had anyone hit 714

The most I have is lou gehrig hit 636

I've heard of OOTP but not BM. What is it?

I'm secretly addicted to computer Strat-o-matic myself. I loved the board and dice game when I was a kid (both SOM and APBA) but when they came out with the computer game I thought that it was a piece of heaven. Wife makes fun of me all the time but I can't help setting up seasons and playing them. If they did this game with modern graphics I would never move from the couch.

My nephew-in-law plays a game that is more interactive, which I guess suits the younger gen better. He starts in the low minors and the game controls when he moves up or gets traded etc. Don't know the name of it but it sounds like a blast.

Just a baseball SIM game you can put as much time into it you want. I assign just about the stats your players make. The fact you can rewrite the records book and stuff.

One thing I can say is if gehrig didn't die so early he could have had alot of records to this day he was on par and usually ahead of Ruth,Wagner,lajoie,and all those top guys at the same age.

The one I'd be interested in is what would Ted Williams lifetime stats had been if he didn't sacrifice all those key years to the war. Betcha they'd be truly impressive, Can you do that? What about keeping Ruth on the Red Sox for his career? That would be interesting too.

Yeah Williams was top 5 in alot of categories right behind gehrig. I don't keep Ruth on Sox because I am a Yankee fan. I was hoping to get Ruth past 755 homers by not having him pitch at all. Start playing in the majors as a 18-19 year old right fielder.

Didn't think of that for Ruth. You can also see how he does as a pitcher for a full career. That would be interesting also. I can see what your talking about now. The possibilities are endless !

exactly and you can sim as many seasons as you want..........I might do that sometime see how he would have fared as a pitcher.

You can also edit the settings to either have the CPU controlled teams to draft like they did in real life or you can set it so they don't always follow the historical path.

The possibilities are endless I just started my seasons again
