I have to admit his time was before me and besides a few songs that play everywhere I haven't listened to him all that much.

Not only one of the most perfect voices in history (tone, range, control, expression), but this guy was also a great actor. I'd watch an old movie just because he's in it. One of a kind.

Dirty Dingus Magee is a fun western he is in...but Manchurian Candidate is his masterpiece.

If you watch Valley of the Dolls, one of the characters is based loosely on him and how he and Dean Martin character's used to take advantage of the girls in the Hollywood casting couches to get them in their movies. Dean Martin in the book was big into anal.

Im a huge Sinatra fan, the king of New York, Vegas, and LA...and smashed Monroe. He's one of the few lives I'd like to live outside my own. My life is pretty awesome too...but not like Sinatra.

His first criminal offense was at 23, arrested for adultery...it used to be a crime back then.

Today's comparison...Justin Timberlake?

Manchurian Candidate is a great film
Francis actually thought his best acting was as " Frankie Machine" The junkie in the film "The Man With The Golden Arm"

You really didn't compare him to JT ?

My favorite Sinatra tune
]

Sumer Wind...Great song

Since we're picking favorites , really impossible
But I really like
" There's no you" from Franks 1957 " Where are you"
Also "Autumn Leaves" written by Johnny Mercer of the same album
Both are superb and hauntingly conducted by Gordon Jenkins
Actually may be my favorite studio album
All songs are incredible

Acting, music, and womanizing...ummm, yes, Justin T just in another era...without the organized crime affiliations, obviously.

The Man with the Golden Arm is also an awesome pick. I have seen that, but I dont think I have seen Frankie the Machine. Suddenly, another movie he was in, will be seen soon though. Its in my Netflix queue right now. :)

Frankie Machine was the characters name in The Man with The Golden Arm portrayed by Sinatra.

Frank Sinatra’s address book from the 1970s through the 1990s included personal information for his high-flying friends from John Wayne and Sidney Poitier to the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom under Ronald Reagan, Charles H. Price II.
Ol’ Blue Eye’s little black book — which was actually an “oxblood leather social bible that reads like a who’s who of the jet set’s gilded age,” according to Man of the World magazine, which features exclusive images of the tome’s pages in its new issue — sold at auction recently for $8,960.
On the front of the book (ominously) was a fortune cookie message that read, “Beware of friends who are false and deceitful.”
Inside, the book was “bulging with annotated contacts” of industry insiders like Sinatra and Elvis Presley’s promoter Jerry Weintraub, Hollywood kingpin Lew Wasserman and songwriter Jimmy Webb.
Sinatra’s centennial is being celebrated this year with everything from a New York Public Library exhibition to an HBO doc and newly launched collections of music by Capitol, Sony and Universal.

Most of , if not all the reissued material is just repackaged goodies.
The HBO documentary was really good. Two parts over 4 hours.
I would like to read that little book, considering I must have approx 50 books on " The Man "
Happy 100 coming up on the 12th of Dec.
Frank and Ava celebrate, gorgeous
