Thought it was good. Had a jaws feeling to it. Very suspenseful and the story was a good one. CGI was great.
I guess the underlying meaning of the film would be that greed for profit causes problems. You don't need to watch the originals to see this one. Only one or two references were in the film and it was for comedic reasons.

i saw it last weekend and loved it. it's everything great about a big summer hollywood blockbuster!
I liked it. I watched it today and would give it a 7/10. If I was picking 1 movie to see this summer, it would be Mad Max.
Special effects were awesome, some plot aspects were greatly lacking. Overall, nice popcorn flick.

Thought it was kind of boring. I mean really.... Wasn't it just an exact combo of the plots from JP 1 and JP 3?
New scary dinosaur that is scarier than the one before (scary!). Why were the characters sooo stupid?!? Why evacuate when you can just repeat the same mistakes as in the original.
Was it splashy and full of CGI? Of course. It didn't hold my attention though.... Thought Mad Max was 10X the movie.

Great review and agree. But you need to remember most people are simple and this is mindless entertainment without much thought required...so it will do extremely well...like Transformers, Harry Potter, and SUPER hero films.
You'll never see a brilliant movie like Memento do this well.
