Andrew Luck on ever joining the Jets: ‘F–k that, man’

Unfortuantely, no, I can't tell you more. You were asking about Petty and I was sharing some of the stuff I had seen & heard during the week. Sorry if it does not answer your specific questions.

It's all good and just the same Thank you. I am a huge fan of Westhoff. I personally was screaming for Mike to get an interview for the HCing job. He's homegrown talent (been in NY for a long time now). I also believe he's a great talent evaluator. He's always been able to get the most out of his players. I love his no nonsense attitude. I think he's a great motivational speaker.

So being able to listen to his take on things matters to me. I certainly trust him way more some guy like Cimini.

Everyone knows that sitting him is an absolute must. That pretty much goes without saying. What I was asking is he showing signs of getting to that next level anything at all ; a good pocket awareness, good accuracy on a 2nd progression, a good play action fake, anything along those lines?

My opinion in regards to who will start is clear. Ryan Fitzpatrick if healthy wins the QB competition for a myriad of reasons, first and foremost because Ryan Fitzpatrick is simply the better QB out of the two.

As far as Fitzpatrick vs. Geno, I put a lot of credence into Chan Gailey's opinion about who should be #1 . Gailey coached Fitzpatrick, and knows him very well. I would expect a pretty informed decision.

OK. Thank you for the info. But can you tell me more? Like specifically answer the questions I asked. I will listen to the podcast right after this, but is he learning to find and complete passes to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th options on the field. How is his accuracy? How does the team react when he's in the huddle?
This does not answer your specific question either but speaks to his effort. Quotes from Jets QB coach

“He’s a worker. He works extremely hard every day in the classroom,” Patullo said. “He has no problem coming in early, staying late, doing his thing. He asks Fitz and Geno all the time, ‘What did you guys see?’ He relies on them. He feels confident in seeing it.”

I would give my left nut to get Andrew Luck on this team. Like everyone else hear has said, this is a non story. I don't even view it as him not liking the jets. He probably had a few drinks and answered how he felt. He's happy where he is.

I really don't think your left nut could ever be the deciding factor if Luck becomes a Jet.

Well thank god for that because I'd be tempted to give it. Lol

Good for Luck.

I actually hope he meant it with all intended disrespect!!! He plays for another team.

I hope our LBs & DLinemen would get asked "if you got the chance to shove Luck out of bounds, would you take that approach as opposed to laying him out"...as to which, said Jet would say "F-that."

Luck gets a serious amount of hype, but I think he is seriously seriously overrated. He is not a bad QB, don't get me wrong but much of his success is due to a couple things, which are the polar opposite of what the Jets have, good weapons on offense and an unwavering commitment by the CS that he is the "guy" which leads to an offense that he throws and throws and throws and gets some success out of that. He cannot sniff the jocks of the Mannings, Bradys, Breeses, of the world.

With all due respect, this post reveals a serious lack of football acumen. Andrew Luck is the best young QB in the game, period. His career track is Manningesque.
This past year alone he had 40 tds and 16 int with a passer rating of 95.6 and 4760 yds. Conversely, Russell Wilson (who is a great young qb as well) had half the tds throwing only 25 % less attempts than Luck. So your argument that Luck "throws and throws and throws" is incorrect. Plus Luck gets sacked way less than Wilson, Tannehill or any other young qb you will name. That shows he has superior elusiveness to avoid a sack and make the play.

If you ask any GM which QB they would pick to start their team that has played in the NFL 3 years or less, I would venture to guess that 90% would pick Luck over Wilson. Remember, the Colts were 1-15 the year before Luck was drafted. Now a short 3 years later they are legitimate SuperBowl contenders. Andrew Luck on the Jets is fantasy. He knows it and that's why he said what he did.

That's good stuff! Thanks, Nick.

I think Luck was directing that at the media and the fans not the Jets orginization.
