I would put a 6th round pick offer in for Clemson's OT Isaiah Battle if it works out it would be a steal.

The speculation is Tampa Bay will use a fourth rounder on him. So every other NFL that wants Battle better offer a third or he will be the property of the Buccanears.

No one knows if that's truth or rumor until tomorrow. The jets should place the value they feel he's worth on him and nothing more. They definitely shouldn't make a decision based on a rumor. Call the Bucs bluff. He does seem like he'd fit in well with Winston...like Nate Newton, Michael Irvin, and their hotel rooms filled with hookers and cocaine.

True till we find out if Tampa bay uses a fourth round pick on him , it's all speculation at this point. But when the Buccanears are scheduled to start a Demar Dotson at Rt, that speculation becomes a lot more believable.

So, apparently the draft order for today's supplemental draft is not necessarily the same as the order for the 2015 draft. The NFL uses a tiered lottery system which might change the order:

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-dr...mental-draft-2015-rules-isaiah-battle-clemson
Supplemental draft rules

The rules of the supplemental draft are simple. The league’s 32 teams are placed into three tiers and ordered via a lottery. The first tier is teams with six or fewer wins the previous season. The second tier is teams with seven or more wins that didn’t make the playoffs. The final tier is the 12 playoff teams.

The team with the worst record has the best chance of winning their tier’s lottery. After the lottery the draft order is set. Teams then silently place a bid on a player with a round associated. If they have the highest bid, they’re awarded the player and forfeit the corresponding pick in the next year’s draft.

My guess is he won't be available in the fourth round because he's from Clemson and therefore WRECKS will be selecting him with next years first round pick [emoji4]

that would be hysterical if Buffalo massively overpays

I wouldn't touch Battle before the 6th. My guess is the Bills will take him in the 4th. Of the 25 teams that had scouts at his proday the Bills were the only one that had a position coach there.

Wouldn't use a draft pick on any one else

Looks like the Rams understand to build a strong OL, you actually have to invest picks. Jets go the route of 5th, 6th, 7th rounders and UDFA..... A little disappointed in MacDaddy.

I would have invested in him too. That's too bad.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I am glad we passed. Solid measurables but poor technique and with the character issues. Let the Rams have him.

I agree. Would have thought about it with a 6th, but this guy is a huge project, and as you mentioned character concerns.

Only did 12 reps on the bench, and has been reported can be bull rushed weak in the legs

All the other eligible players are now unrestricted free agents. Let's see if we have any interest.

Battle worked out for most of the teams in the league and Gil Brandt of NFL Media reports that he posted 40-yard dash times of 5.21 and 5.29 seconds. Battle added a 24.5-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot-5 broad jump and 12 reps of bench press at 225 pounds before an arm cramp cut the exercise short.

Ah.... the old "Arm Cramp" excuse..... Classic!

Every one of the Jets problems cannot be fixed overnight. The Jets actually have two 1st round draft choices in Brick and Mangold. Being disappointed because the GM has been through only one draft and really didn't address the OL, is ridiculous. You're misunderstanding that the Jets have too many problems to simply address them all in one fail swoop. You may want it to happen (as do I), but that doesn't mean the team should endanger their future just to get caught up with all the bad moves Idzik made.

Odds are the 2016 1st round draft choice is either QB or OL. It's early, but it isn't too early to see areas for potential problems when the season starts. The OL could use a youth movement and I do believe they have some depth now. That's something they haven't had for a while. But still they lack that starter talent in a few spots. RT and RG seem to be areas for concern. Brick and Mangold are not getting any younger and it shouldn't come as any surprise if their play begins to slip.

So, yes, although you are pointing out areas that are potentially lacking in the team, it cannot be fixed all at once. Patience is a virtue.

Spending a 5th on a player who has all the measurables at a position of need is not ridiculous. Better than spending a 1st or 2nd next year. Brick could very well be a Cap casualty after next year.... having a young man with all the tools in camp this year learning the position seemed like a no brainer to me.... especially for what could turn out to be a mid or late rd. 5th next yrear.

Obviously Mac didn't feel it was a "need" pick or he doesn't see the value to invest in Battle. I defer to Mac, who knows a heck of a lot more than all of us.
