New York Sack Exchange, Part Deux

They didn't get sacks last year mainly because WRECKS screwed up the secondary by moving Allen and Pryor to wrong positions, getting Milliner injured by playing him on the all important extra point special teams and left us with the likes of Phillip Adams etc allowing receivers to run free and wide open instantly

Defensive genius, my ass

Fortunately WRECKS and his sycophants are off ruining the Bills, we've added 24 and 31, Skrines and Gilchrist, Allen and Pryor are back in the right positions, Kyle Wilson is gone and Milliner and McDougle will be helping in nickel and dime.

QBs will be standing back there looking for open receivers for eternity and finding themselves buried by our DL and LBs

Gonna be fun to watch Tammy pout, whine and cry

Do you always speak in such extremes? I don't see how it's "ridiculous" to expect dominance from a group which has already proven itself to be among the best defensive lines in the league. And they added a player who many people felt was the best player in the draft in Leonard Williams.

Sacks are nice, but I'll take a combination of pass rush and run defense over a line which thrives mainly in pressuring the QB.

If you had actually read and understood my post, you would have known what I was saying.

It's ridiculous to get your hopes up about a DL that gets as many sacks as the Sack Exchange. There is NOTHING to indicate that these guys can get to the QB the way the SE did. Leonard Williams is a wildcard, but still a rookie on a learning curve.

I don't doubt this DL will be great. But they are a far cry from SE level when it comes to statistics. Sacks are statistics and this current group does not compare. Mo has what? 5.5 sacks last season? That is not SE numbers. Sheldon had 8, but do you truly believe he'll have those numbers after serving a 4 game suspension? I don't think so.

The DL will be the core of the defense. More than likely they will control the LOS in every game. But thinking they will be as flashy and as celebrated as the original SE is absurd. You guys are getting your hopes up only to have them dashed.

I personally do not care if yet put up the same sack #s . I just want our defense and expect them to be dominant, overall. I dont care about #s . Pressure the QB and that's it.

Well, that's a very reasonable expectation. When the DL is at full strength it's going to be truly pick your poison. OL's will not be able to double team everyone and that's really the thing. Somebody will always have an opportunity to blow up the guy in front of him and make a play in the backfield or get to the QB.

And as Westhoff already said, anything less than top 3 would be a major disappointment. The defense could easily keep the team in the playoff hunt.
