Gonna be fun watching the 38 year old girly man getting crushed by Williams, Coples and Sons this season

That stat just backs up what we already knew Brady wilts under pressure.

It also backs up the need for depth among pass rushers. Just think back to the SB, Seattle pressured Brady for about 3 quarters, but their pass rushers wore down and he was able to shred their defense in the 4th for the comeback win. You have to pressure him, but also rotate in enough pass rushers to be fresh in the 4th quarter. We are fortunate that Sheldon will be back when we play them, because we will need all of our depth to keep after him for 60 minutes.

Remember when the GMen beat the Patriots during their unbeatable season? It was with inside pressure; tall DLmen who got penetration and limited his vision. We have the pieces to do the same thing.

The teams that have beaten the Pats in big spots over the past few years have largely done it by pressuring Brady. The Giants had an outstanding pass rush in their SB wins. Baltimore had an aggressive defense. The Jets back in 2011.

Give Brady all day, and he will pick you apart with his short passes. Pressure him, and he chokes.

One thing to consider is, how many plays do they consider him actually being pressured? Of course a good pass rush is going to bother you unless you're Michael Vick in his prime.
One thing I notice is most years comments are made about how bad ne's o line is, but Brady still seems to get good protection.

If Brady is used to good protection, then of course he's going to be surprised when someone bull rushes him off the ball.

This is how the Giants beat them in the Super Bowl the year they went undefeated in the regular season.

It should have been apparent to one and all after that Super Bowl, particularly AFC East rivals, thats if you want to beat the Patriots, building a fierce pass rush is absolutely essential. My one disappointment with Rex is that he never had a sense of urgency about bringing in a stud edge rusher. Surprising considering his father was all about rushing the passer.

Exactly!

I should have read thru the thread before I posted, because all I did was repeat what you said here.

Be careful with these numbers - the implication is that Brady plays worse under pressure than other QBs, but remember that other QBs who are lower rated in non-pressure situations will have less far to fall, so the drop expressed in a number like that will be smaller.

He benefits from quick dump-offs when necessary. But he's not one of those guys who can really burn teams that blitz. QBs can react differently to pressure. Drew Brees, for example, thrives under it. He can make a team pay for pressuring him. Brady, on the other hand, struggles.

His OL is seriously deteriorated from what it was. And he's now in a division with some of the fiercest front sevens in the game. Jets are loaded, Buffalo loaded, Miami added Suh.

This has always been well known about Brady. He's built like a p*ssy. He cannot take hits. If he had played back in the 80's he would not have lasted a single season. The very second he senses pressure getting to him consistently he is done. Just stick a fork in him because if you keep it up? He will start being erratic with the football, he'll throw interceptions. He'll fumble the ball. He'll throw the ball up for grabs. He'll rush throws. He's barely better than Geno Smith when under pressure.

One of the things that makes Brady a great QB is that he gets the ball out very quickly, and accurate. That's also why receivers like Welker, and Gronk had great numbers with him. Balls out in under 2 seconds

The difference is, I can't remember if it was Ham on this site, or Bitonti on JN that posted a stat that Smith is one of the leaders in holding the ball a long time. Brady was one of the top in getting it out quickly.

That leads to sacks that shouldn't be, fumbles that shouldn't be, and interceptions out of panic.

Two keys to beating Brady. Have CB's that can cover in a press, so the receiver can't be open 1.5 seconds after the snap, and pass rushers who can get to him quickly.

Jets should have both
