Chad was one of the best. If only he could have held up physically. He got a lot of hate from Jets fan over the years but when healthy he was very good.

We should have all known better. Would have killed for a QB as good as him over the last 4-5yrs.

Agree 100%.

Never understood the hatred for Chad. Thought he was a real smart class guy. He never had the arm talent to be an elite QB, and after his second shoulder, the arm was gone completely.

He used smarts and his understanding of the game to play at a very high level. Would love to have a healthy 26 YO Pennington on the team right now.

Would love for him to be here as a QB coach. He has said he would never be a full time NFL coach though.

I loved Chad; when he got injured, I hung a Pennington jersey in my window on the off chance that, hey, maybe he'd drive by and see it, and maybe he'd stop in for a bite to eat! But seriously, I thought he was awesome, but the media turned on him completely the day he called them out and said "it is an honor and a privilege to cover the New York Jets."

i've always been a fan & before the injuries I truly believed we finally had our first franchise QB since joe..

the hate he got at JI back in the day was hard to read..

I agree. The Pennington who played from 2002 - 04 (before the shoulder injuries) was a really good QB. The 2004 season is still the last season the Jets had a QB complete 60% of his passes and average less than 1 int per game. It has been a long time since we have seen decent QB play over an extended period.

I hope the Colt and Packer fans realize how lucky they are.
