In goal line, Marshall scores on Skrine. He's near impossible to stop on that goal line slant. He's just too powerful, can't get a jam. #NYJ

Marshall is pure muscle and will be tough to stop in goal line situations. That slant works great even against Revis when i saw him on Saturday.

As for Kerley, Superman55 is not the only one that has mentioned that Kerley is on the bubble. I doubt he will get cut but the team isnt serious about him at all in my opinion. He has only gotten reps as a fourth string it seems. Owusu, Enunwa and Smith have all jumped him. Not sure if that is because they know what they have in Kerley or if he is not any good anymore. Last year he struggled mightily.

I'll bet when the season starts Kerley gets more reps in the slot then any one else.

Right now they are looking at a lot of guys for that last slot. Just like Qvale was getting a lot of reps at RG. They wanted to see what he could do for the future. he didn't play badly, but It seems that Colon will be the guy, at least at the start, again

Fair point and I asked one of the reporters at camp about Kerley on Twitter and he just said Kerley is Kerley so that's a good sign.

I've been meaning to ask and it's a bit concerning to me but, why the hell is Amaro getting reps with third stringers. I find that odd. Hope it's the same deal as Kerley. They know what they got and are looking for other contributors.

Amaro's a different situation. He's a 2nd year player, not a seasoned vet like Kerley. Early in the OTA's Bowles said that Cumberland was the starting TE, and Amaro was going to be the H-back. I thought that was peculiar. Then in OTA's they started running him on the 2nd field with the bubble players.

Could be one of two things. He is not learning the H-back position as well as they would like, or he is in Bowles dog house. Perhaps for giving rex some bulletin board material in their exchange.

IDK, but it is odd

And the streak is over: Geno Smith throws his first INT of camp. Of course it was a pick 6, Marcus Williams. #nyj

Looks like the kid's streak of practices with two or more interceptions stands at ONE

I wonder if other fans completely overreact to their QB's throwing picks in practice.

Slimeball Cimini wasn't able to restrain himself, either. The minute it happened he was like a paparazzi jerk jumping out of the bushes with his camera screaming "he threw a pick! he threw a pick!" And just to rub it in more, he adds "and OF COURSE it's a pick six".

I really despise our media hacks.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- With the preseason opener on Thursday night, the New York Jets have released their first official depth chart. Based on what I've seen in practice, this is an accurate representation on how things stand at every position.

There are no stunners on the depth chart. Yes, Geno Smith is listed as the No. 1 quarterback. No, the Jets didn't pull a page out of the Buffalo Bills' press release, listing it as Smith/Ryan Fitzpatrick. There are no slashes on Todd Bowles' depth chart, just your basic list of starters and backups and backups to the backups.

A few notes:

• Jace Amaro is listed as the third tight end, behind Jeff Cumberland and Kellen Davis. Don't read too much into this. Remember, Bowles said Amaro would be used as an H-Back, and there's no H-Back on the depth chart.

• Troubled defensive end Sheldon Richardson is listed as a starter even though he has been practicing with the backups. No. 1 pick Leonard Williams appears as a backup, but he's expected to start the first preseason game.

• Chris Owusu (concussion) is listed as a second-team wide receiver, as is Jeremy Kerley. Obviously, the starters are Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall. This illustrates how much Owusu has climbed in the eyes of the coaches.

• Incumbent left guard Oday Aboushi is listed behind James Carpenter and Dakota Dozier. This confirms what we suspected at the Green & White practice: Aboushi, who worked with the third-team line, is on the roster bubble.

Maybe, but what I believe is Gailey has been given any excuse he can by drafting a young speedy Wr #2 pick for the Jets...and is working anyone faster onto the field over Kerley when he can, Smith, Owusu, and Enunwa who are all lights out faster than Kerley.

I do bet Kerley gets "the most" reps as #3 , but where in years past it may have been 85% Kerley #3 and 15% group of others...this year is more like 60-40% and Smith is practically #3 by year end.

I do think Gaily is going to work more young speed on the field than we've seen in years past when we had no deep threats. I think Gaily has Geno try to free up Decker and Marshall's great route running ability with some deep routes using Smith and/or Owusu/Hakim/Enunwa/Graham/Evans and Kerley's on the sideline often watching those plays as we run safeties out of the play or take some deep shots.

Amaro as an H-back?

I'm scratching my head over that one. Let the kid play his natural position. Let's not get cute here. He can stretch the field for YAC plays.

I'm starting to think the dog house thing with Rex may be true. Players got in Parcells dog house all the time.

Great point. I'm an equal opportunity hater. I hate most Jets media AND many Jets fans.

Imagine if we were the Patriots, with a bunch of media slobbering all over us and fans drinking the Kool-Aid in gallons, following our leader and chanting his mantra, refusing any fact that dare challenge our infallibility.

We are, in many, many ways, the anti-Patriots.
